Ok i previously stated that there will be no list on May 9th because up to that point thats what i heard. I got two seperate calls today that confirmed the list will be out on May 9th. I didnt believe it at first but it does indeed look like it will happen. I didnt get an exact figure on the number of throw outs/ doubles but i was told it will be comparable to the last Captains exam. Was also told one Lt in paticular fought VERY hard to get as many questions thrown out as possible. I know this Lt's identity and will be getting a beer from me in the near future. So thats about it. Let the countdown begin. Good luck all!

Thanks for the info! I'm still getting mixed info from my two guys- one says te 9th and the other days June, but I would by no means call them "concrete" sources. I hope you're right- we'll find out soon. One good thing is that although the dates seem to change regularly, the throw out/double numbers have been consistent. Thanks again!

I'm truly shocked but you guys are legit posters so it makes me more confident that it's true. HB...only thing i don't get is the veteran's points. Last I was told they weren't verified yet.

I agree- logically it doesn't make sense for the 9th. After the panel is done I thought the guys now on the list would get to go verify their veterans points. I don't know anymore- DCAS an the city seem to do what they want. I'm hopeful for the 9th, but I'm not holding my breath.

Just because the Sgt's list came out on the Wednesday doesn't mean that our list will come out on the same day. It just makes me believe it is someone's wishful thinking. I concur with Stiggit on the veteran's points issue because there is no way for them to finish it in a few days. And I don't even think the job is gonna promote more than 600 LTs in the next 4 years being that they have promoted around 1800 Lts since 03 and nobody is retiring/young Lts/no one wants to make Capt etc.... So doesn't matter if the list has 1600 names because it is just impossible after 700.....

Everyone says no Lt's are retiring but every day I look at the Finest and 2-3 Lt's are visiting the pension section and retiring. It's not a huge rate but it's better than nothing.

The veterans points doesn't make sense but remember Dcas released a list without longevity points then had to readjust that list later on. It wouldn't shock me if the forgot the veterans. Also I want to thank HB for info. Not many people would admit they were wrong.

They will give the veteran points to the guys that claimed them and verify them at a later date when they are about to get promoted. They don't have to be verified before the list comes out.

But those were the people that initially scored at least a 70 not those that originally failed but are on the list due to throwouts.

I heard the same thing MAY 9th and its coming from someone in the Chief of Department office.. I never say confirmed as anything subject change on this job.. but a lot of other people have heard the same.. hopefully its true

Guys i scored a 75 on the proposed key but i get no points for time in rank. If the list is 900 where do u think i will drop to? I know, selfish question but please give me an idea

It's really hard to say when you are talking about 18 or 19 possible adjusted questions. You could pick up 4 or you could pick up 12; and that could be a difference of a year in promotions.

In regards to the veterans credits it take two minutes to verify the information that we need to provide. The person claiming the credits also has 90 days to provide that info from the time they get the letter requesting it. I doubt they will hold up establishing the list for that reason. But even if people get the letter today or over the weekend then it is still possible for dcas to input those points onto the list. I am hopeful. Good Luck to all.
