@newneverborn what you mean take the next test just to make sure!you dont make no sence because they are not going to give another test until our 4yrs are uP moron.

 

First off please learn the difference between "sence" and "sense". Learn to spell, bro before you even think about posting. Secondly, I was told to take the next exam in order to double my chances. To assume that I would not get cut off and then pass off the next exam is totally foolish and something you would do.

What is up with all this chatter about people with less than a certain score being DOA on the coming list?

no..... cut off score is 70. List can stay active for 4 years. more than 4 years and they can just get rid of the list and start a new one. No more cut off scores. Lack of promotions can cause people to die on the list.

for example they dont promote ANYONE off this list for 4 years, they then can decide to just scrap the whole test with no promotions from it. everyone dies on the list.

btw this wont happen. There is a rumor about this every year for every test. read the 09 forum and 08 forum "Sgt test on fast track to being axed" "09 test so easy it will re-introduce cut off score" blah blah blah. Nobody knows anything. Just 7500 people who failed the exam trying to make those that passed feel like them. And some troll bosses trying to make themselves feel better about their test....

Spartan, why do you make light of the issue at hand? At my command they are saying that 1700 people passed this exam and if that is true then I am also of the belief that we can all get made. someone stated before that the head count is decreasing. It makes sense that less cops means less supervision. I sure hope they don't cut me off. I scored a 77 with everything attached. Needless to say, I am very worried. My cousin who retired 2 years ago as Lt told me that there is a strong possibility that people will die on this list. He recommends I take the next Sgt exam just to be sure.

They will probably announce another test a year before the anticipated 4 year mark, and or the anticipated finishing of the list...you will have an idea by the time if you should retake the test or not

Hey azzwipe didnt ur test come out while the other sgt's list was still active? A cop from the other list could of took ur test if had he chose to. My god u are so stupid.

Agreed! No cut off score. The 70 passing 70 score was implemented to get rid of the cut off score but I too believe there will be a hiring slow down when it comes to newly minted sgts. Frankly, we have reached a saturation point when it comes to sgts. As a result the BMOC process will be slowed down substantially. Sadly, some people will die on this list.

          Pretty bold statement considering nothing is set in stone. Why would someone with a below a 80 start sweating ? We don't even have a list out yet, 70% of the list could have between a 70-80 for all we know. I'm holding a score just above a 80 and I dont feel nervous at all. We can do nothing but wait.
