Got my DCAS veteran's points interview

I got 70 on the nose, and I got the notice today, 2/21/12.  The date and time they told me to come down was 2/24 at 0900.  I called them and was able to move it to 2/23 at 0900 due to my schedule.  I am sure your's is coming in a day or two, NextLtTest.

This list is coming very soon...

Did you get a score of a 70 or above? Just curious, I'm a veteran as well and did use my points for this test.

Fortunately, I did get a 70 off the Proposed Answer Key...so no indication on throwouts, etc.

The cops who took the sgt test got theirs awhile ago. LOBLOVESYOU can I ask what u got? Was it a 70 straight up? I got slightly higher(73) and did not get a letter yet. Just wondering if the r going low to high or maybe alphabetically?

I got a 75 and also received mine today with a report date of 2/24 at 0900.

I think the Sgt's exam guys got this a while ago, so I wouldn't look at it as a sign the list is coming out any time soon.

Can anyone tell me how it went? I am going thursday. Will they take a copy of the dd-214?

It took all of 3 minutes. They look at the forms they ask you to bring, make copies of them and you're done. I had my original, but I can't imagine them not taking a copy of it. As long as it's signed, I don't think it makes a difference if it's a photo copy. Good luck.

A guy I know failed by 2 with the first answer key but got called down to bring his military paperwork. Leads me to believe the throwouts are done, which brought his score to at least a 70.

Sorry to break it to you but they call down everyone who is close. A friend of mine had a 68 on a Sergeants test a while ago, was called down for the veteran's points interview and wound up failing in the end.

They call everyone just so they can be prepared. It means nothing.

I claimed veterans preference on last test and never got called down, I failed that test so Iwould guess they do not call everyone down.

Well I know of someone from the sergeants exam who was called down and did not pass. Maybe someone stole your mail.

Ok. So there are like seven posters on this thread. Does this mean that they could wrap up this investigation into the whole veterans thing really quick. And that like only maybe a dozen of us claimed veterans preference?

I was originally scheduled for the 24th also. Wonder if it is just the 7 of us claiming preference?

I know that both of you guys passed, it would have been nice if you'd had asked if these guys had passing scores.

I had the 2/24 at 0900 appt. I got there about 30 minutes early and was out of there by 0905. It was me and 5 other guys there. Not sure if there were guys scheduled later or if maybe there were people just running late, or if, like you said, there just aren't that many people that claimed credit.

I'm sorry I didn't, but I should have asked the DCAS person how many people registered for credit or how many sessions they were running to verify guys.

@NYG37.......... I was by myself when I went. But when I called to reschedule and told them that I did not have my birth certificate because I was renewing my passport the guy I spoke to seemed like he was in a rush to get me to come in. The guy even told me to just forget about my birth certificate because I needed to be a resident to be a city employee.

You have to figure that of those that can claim veteran's points, not many have them left.  I know a few guys who unwittingly used them to get on the job and a lot who used them to make sgt.

Does anyone know if they notify us if we have been approved for the extra points or do we just have to wait?

When I went for the interview, they told me. I assumed it was like that for everyone.

has anyone who didn't break the initial 70 get notified for veterans credit interview? That will pretty much let us all know that they completed the review and have identified the actual throw outs.
