Havent seen my buddy in the puzzle palace and dont wanna keep stalking him---but my buddy in BMOC said the instructors r saying def no class in Feb or March. any others hear this???
Brat of you are now thinking 1600-1800. WOuld you think the list will eventually die? Cant imagine why the City wouldn't put out another test in 2015-2016

So if we ASSUME a list of 1800, where do you see the cut off? Because I can't see 1800 people being promoted in 3-4 yrs. They took 3yrs to promote just under 800 now. So would you think 1400-1800 are doomed? Anyone under75? 79?
Dont know where you're getting that info from but the first class from the 2009 Sgt exam went in November of 2010. So in a little over a year they've promoted almost 800 sgts. Even if they don't continue to promote at the current rate and assuming 1800 passed, everyone should be promoted from the 2011 exam in 4 years.
Well if there are 1800 and we can all make it in 4 yrs that would be great.

I agree, people are being too impatient. I want to get out of where I am as much as the next guy, but why do guys relay info on here like its gospel? Cant we just wait a few more months so we can shut down the rumor mill? I do notice guys get butt-hurt when the info is not favorible and jump down peopke's throats more. If the list is 900 or 1500 so be it, we cant change it. If you die on the list, oh well study harder next time...its not like we are losing our job if we dont get promoted. And yes the list size is a factor for me with my raw score of 75 which seems to be the average. It will be here sooner or later and we all know how this job works by now to get worked up over bull**** from some self important cotton headed ninny muggins.

IDK, this is not concrete, I'm only relaying what one of my bosses told me. Even though there might not be any BMOC classes in Feb. and March they still might establish the list around then because the city likes to have continuity in the lists, just in case they run out of names on the 09 list,they'll pull the top guys on our list. it sort of makes sense, I guess. Who Knows? If you ask me I think we're all of bunch of EDP's. lol
900 is a fact---i know the Lt in 1PP who works directly with DCAS. FACT---from what he s been saying last month. Now---the BMOC thing---i ve been hearing they wanna slow the rate of promotions till summer. so----ur right----we ll get there eventually----just gotta be patient.

I gotta say this board has achieved something I don't think I have seen before... Pissed off Brat. Good job... U guys should just try to forget about the exam. I'm telling you, it'll come much quicker if you can forget about it and go on with your lives until you get promoted. If you think about it every day you'll just be miserable....
I heard a rumor today that they are putting 2,000 into the July Academy. I know it is only Jan 26th but can anyone like Brat or anyone with CREDIBLE sources confirm this ? If 2,000 actually go in which sounds like a lot to me that would have to be good for Sgt promotions this year and next year no? Brat??
The 2009 list is almost exhausted and they went through that list when they were putting in extremely small classes of new recruits in the PA and in one instance an entire class was canceled.
Now with hiring picking up again and the Safe City Safe Streets classes of the early 90's coming up for retirement, I'd be shocked if they don't promote at a steady pace for at least the first half of the 2011 list, whenever it is established.
