Hey guys---dont know if u already know this---but the NYPD recieves pell grants from the Feds every year so that NYPD cops are eligible to take 4 college courses for either undergrad or even graduate degrees. Thats 12 credits they pay for---all you have to do is go on site---contact the NYPD Leadership Program at J Jay--and ur in. Was talking to guy who teaches there and half the money is wasted every year--which is nuts. If this job is gonna pay for you to further yourself---milk that tee tah for all its worth. Their aces with cops up there---actually really treat us well. Lotta retirees up there who now teach who look out for ya. For those that need the credits---good luck.....

Yea it's true. Personally I got on the job with military so it was huge for me. Just as of last semester I got enough credits to make Sgt. 4 more Semesters and I'll have my bachelors degree (which you need when you retire nowerdays). They will take up to 90 outside credits if you already have some. In my case I only had the academy credits it was a nice jump start. I have been going there a few semesters now so if anyone has any questions about the program. Be advised I'm not at all affiliated with them just well versed with it.
PS the semester is about to begin Jan 27 so hurry up if you want to go this semester.

Completed the four Graduate classes they offer and I agree it's a great program that a lot of people on this job are in the dark about. The job doesn't give out much for free so take advantage of the opportunity.
