I keep hearing that you could have pass this test without studying, that is not true, If that was the case then everyone would have passed and not just the 241 people who currently made the list. It urks my nerves when I hear this. I know I lot of people who took this exam who studied including myself and did not pass. And I know people who studied and just passed in the low 70's. If this test was so easy to pass without studying there should be a lot more people on this list. And furthermore I heard the highest score was a 86.
There were APPROX. 6 grammar, 4 math, 17 inbasket, 30 judgment and 43 PG questions, so even if you get all the inbasket, grammar, math and judgment questions correct you still will have to know at least 13 of the PG questions, and these PG questions were not straight forward & poorly written. So to guess all of these and get 13 correct ummmm.... Im not saying it cant be done its just a stretch. (I bet the 241 that passed all studied or went to one of the promotional schools at some point) So my point is for all the people saying you can pass this test without studying sounds retarded since over 2,000 sgts took the test and 241 passed. So lets just think logically, if you can pass without studying everyone would have passed and for the people who studied there should have been some with a score of 100 and scores in the high 90's so....logically what does that tells us....ummm That tells us the above statement is not at all true.
Theres no way anyone would have passed this test without studying. However, approximately 30% of the exam consisted of material that you didn't need to study for such as judgement questions, math, grammar etc. This was a very difficult exam and that's indicated by the amount of people that failed including many that were top scorers in prior sergeants exam.
Im drained...... my dear you are taking what they are saying to literally. when people say this, they are only implying that "US" who studied the patrol guide, admin guide, legal bullentins, course booklets, interim orders.....were all disappointed to see a test that had less than half of that on it. So basically, non studiers who are just really good at math and grammar and good guessing with judgement questions actually had a shot. but real studiers and people with sense all know that the ones who really studied passed and unforteantly some as myself didn't. now if u take a sgt who studied just as hard as me and he received a 72. and i received a 68...(because thats my actual score). the 72 sgt could of received those extra four points on the math OR grammar alone which i did not do well on. i did well on the patrol guide questions. so it was upsetting to see that and unfair if u ask me and many others who had no idea they were going to go there so profoundly.
Ok, I see your point innocent1, I studied for about eight months, I got all the math wrong, nine judgment wrong, six in the inbasket, three grammar wrong and the rest PG, so I feel the pain. I got a 67, Im hoping I pick up three+ points. I cant wait til the waiting period is over, Im tired of waiting and hoping...good luck to you innocent1 and everyone else.
im drained.... i believe we have a big shot. we r very close and more than likely we both have popular ones wrong. i cant wait to know results as well. i know it probably takes three years to get promoted anyway because Lt list move slower than a turtle. but at least we would know that we have somethen to look forward to. i believe and have faith that we will be celebrating shortly along with the 241 which will change to 541.
