Question 83 activity log

Be advised if you type the sentence of question 83 regarding activity log into Microsoft word, it shows the sentence correct regardless of whether activity log is capitalized or not

Anyway, sonsofxaxier I dropped that question too. Good luck!

Quite a few people appear to have gotten this grammar question wrong.  Does anyone remember the exact wording of the choices and the DCAS reasoning for their correct answer?

I believe you had to know that ACTIVITY LOG is supposed to be capitalized

Not sure which one you are referring to. There was several. The one with neither / nor is no good because it said Neither PO Baxter nor PO Shapiro are available to work the next tour. Should be IS available to work the next tour. I got that one wrong, never was any good with grammar.

So, grammatically, all the choices were each equally correct, but the DCAS reasoning for their most correct choice was that Activity Log should have been written as ACTIVITY LOG?   This questions seems neither a proper English grammar question, nor does it test facts as related in the Patrol Guide.  Per the rules of English grammar, each choice given is equally correct.  And per the rules of the Patrol Guide, there is no section which specifically states the proper formatting for the words Activity Log.  By the rules of all commonly accepted English Grammar textbooks, including grammar rules listed by NASA in its Handbook for Technical Writers and Editors, the all-caps style of writing, should be reserved only for acronyms and abbreviations.  While in the Patrol Guide, Departmental forms are written primarily using the all-caps style, as in COMPLAINT REPORT or GUN SAFETY sticker, this is not a specifically designated rule.  In fact, in the actual Activity Log itself, the all-caps style is not used when referenced on the back page as exampled by the following sentence: Make detailed Activity Log entries of all significant facts concerning the arrest, including all witnesses names, addresses and telephone numbers.  So it would seem that the capitalization scheme of ACTIVITY LOG is not necessarily correct, by either the rules of Proper English grammar, nor per unique grammatical rules of the Department itself.

Rising Idiot- I couldn't attend the protest, but am mailing my protest in now. Just to confirm, You were told at the protest session that Activity Log must be in all-caps and that's why it was grammatically incorrect? Do you happen to remember which choice that was?

Your right. It was question 83. I didn't have my notes when I posted that. Choice B was "The arraignment procedure is badly in need of revision". Don't know what C or D was.

Oi vay. Before you waste your time with this all-caps nonsense, consider that the only people at the protest who have knowledge of the test are other protestors.
