How was the turnout? Were you happy with the amount of Sgts. who showed up? Was DCAS organized? Any tips/advice/insight you can give those who have our appts tomorrow or Friday?
Also, anyone planning to mail in their protests? Personally, as of now, I have a childcare issue and may not be able to make it on 12/2, and I definitely want to protest. Anyone else doing this too?
Yep, I'm in the same boat. Got my protests organized today and will be mailing them in after speaking to some more people that will be attending tomorrow and Friday.
About 100 Sgts at the Brooklyn location, they allowed you to go into certain rooms at the beginning with people you knew so you could write protests together. You could walk around the room, people were screaming ideas to each other, I felt like I was back in school again doing a group project. I suggest bringing food and drink because you are not allowed to leave and there is no vending machines. Also you can show up whatever time you want, but the protest session will end at 3:30.
DCAS was not too organized. Protest session started around 10am instead of 930am. The room I was in was not allowed to walk around. Tony from Rising Star had to kneel on his chair to talk to us b/c DCAS wouldn't allow him to stand at front of room or talk from anywhere but his chair. Def bring snacks and beverages, dictionary, and admin guide if possible. But you can share with your neighbors and classmates so what you don't bring they might. Good luck
i like the key, i still do, but...i admit that i'm disappointed by them. not because i got blindsided...but more because i havent really heard from them or whether they're going to protest or just sit back. i dont know if i should take their classes next time around.
Which rep from key was there? For those who are going in future they don't make it easy you have to ask them to make copies for u they were annoyed everytime u asked for extra protest paper the chairs are the usual High school chair/desks there was 3 classes w/ 20 people in each class there were about 60 chairs in my class but they make u sit from seat 1-20 so the one side of room is crowded while other is empty it makes it tuff w/ everyone's reference material, but said n done all the protesters we're full of piss n vinegar & most did alot of protesting, & were hopping making DCAS people run around.
