The more people protest a question the better chance they many throw it out.We should start by listing all the questions you got wrong then we should come up with a TOP 10 list that we should all scrutinize and as a team protest them ALL.After we have the top ten, we should then work on remembering the question, so we can properly prepare for the protest. I WILL START

Another method used to determine the effectiveness of a question is the consistency of incorrect responses. So, ironically, the more of us that got a question wrong, the more valid it is considered to be....statistically.
ok guys this is what i have so far. now we have to figure out which questions we can remember, so we can properly prepare our protest.
how to read what i did. eg. #4 90%got it wrong, but that does not mean that is the one we will all protest together, we have to first know what the question is,
So, PLEASE if anyone know, or can remember any of the below to we can all portest them together.. REMEMBER !!! POWER IN #'s we just all have to agree which questions we really want them to throw out..

qwerty123, i agree with what your saying , so how about if most people got for example the letter C. and most of us got it wrong. do you thing that consistency can determine a need to look into a question? I'm just trying to find the best way as a team. to fight some questions.
here's the 35 I got wrong, wtf? this is unbelievable, 1. C 4. B 5. D 10. C 15. A 21. C 24. A 26. D 27. C 28. A 29. B 34. A 37. A 39. A 40. D 47. C 48. B 51. A 52. A 55. C 57. B 60. A 63. A 64. B 65. C 68. B 71. A 72. D 81. C 83. D 89. B 90. B 95. C 96. B
lets see if we can do this... we will select the TOP TEN to protest based on what we know we can protest and as a team protest the ones that most got wrong. this is a test run.....let see if we can work them out.

#100..Mes018 wrote..QUESTION #100=."Some older threads state #100 was the question where you had to get some project done for the Mayor's Office. Answer Choices were: A - Delegate the work to subordinates and authorize OT if needed. B - Cut corners to get it done on time. C - Roll up your sleeves and dig in. D - Tell the X.O. that the assignment is too much for you to handle. I dont remember the exact wording, and I might have the answer choices switched around (especially B & D). I chose roll up your sleeves and dig in because as a lieutenant you are not allowed to authorize OT for administrative work. That is only for the PC, First Dep, and Chief of Dept. to allow. (I guess DCAS decided to change what a lieutenant is allowed to do, because according to them the answer is A - authorize OT to get it done.)".so this can be added .
it seems a lot of people had issues with 56 to 64. I got all wrong some how. could have done better if I had guessed. it seems others had problems with this area too.
Some of my wrong answers. Bold choices are in-line with the majority answer on spreadsheets or very close.

IMHO: The number of people that protest a question has no bearing on whether it is thrown out. Take your time and write thoughtful, persuasive explanations supporting the answer you think should be credited. For PG related questions, your protest must cite the PG section accurately. For judgment questions you must clearly and persuasively explain why your answer was the MOST correct. Very few of the judgment questions had clear errors (like the authorizing overtime one. I chose the "correct" answer but I knew it was wrong). Ultimately they will adjust the numbers to get a reasonablly large list; your goal should be to give them support for crediting the answers you got wrong so that you benefit from the changes. Don't let your emotions get the better of you at the protest. Do not waste time protesting the questions that made you angry, protest the ones that you can clearly argue against. Keep in mind that an answer may be a correct statement or a sound policy, but does not respond to the call of the question. I will be writing protests for the entire 6 hours because there were so many poorly written questions but there were also a lot of simply difficult questions (there always are). I hope in the end most of the people that studied hard and made tremendous sacrifices make the list. I am lucky to be on the good side of 70 but I am still furious that the test was such a curve ball. When you study hard you should do well, when you don't study hard you should fail. Traditionally, even with all of its faults, the test was usually fair in that sense.
What is up with so many people getting a lot wrong from 20 thru 29?? Seems like the chunk of the test that gave people the most problems. Any protestable ones in there? There have to be since very common among a lot of people i talk t0 had issues there.

I totally agree with you. But dont you thing we will have a better chance of getting a questiond thrown out if we all as a team target a bad question together. And as a team work on getting all the right material, to properly protest it with valid arguments? that what we are trying to do here. Let all figure the top ten bad questions to fight. and each person can also protest other questions too. But as a team lets try to all fight at least 10 of the same questions.
My Projection is all the judgement questions will be tossed. All the PG questions will stand. We all know there were a lot of tricks with these PG questions. But some how DCAS will give us an answer is to why they're fair. DCAS will not have an answer for the judgement questions.
I just came back from DCAS I asked all the questions I can think of regarding the protest review session. I DID NOT SPEAK TO THE PERSON ON THE WINDOW; I spoke to a supervisor who confirmed any question I had with his supervisor. This is what I got. 1. You can bring the supporting evidence to substantiate your protest. INCLUDING the Fast Track Total Guide.. as long as you can also state what section in the patrol guide its from 2. You can NOT bring and hand written material. You can bring in something type written, like your prepped protest. 3. They will have three locations for the sessions. I was told my session will be on December 2nd at 210 juraloman street in Brooklyn. From 9am- 3pm 4. After the session you can still send in your protest by mail. And attach supporting evidence to substantiate your protest; YOU MUST indicate the question #. 5. By MAIL you have until the 28th of December to have it post marked 6. As per the Judgment questions he said they did not use any book as a reference, this all came from the LTs that made up the test. 7. They will have a copy machine to make copies of material to attach to the protest. 8. The panel will consist of 1 LBA rep, 1 NYPD rep, 1 DCAS rep. 9. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE QUESTION # he said that is very important. So like Ive been saying lets all try to protest most of the same questions and help each other properly write it out. (Remember you can bring in typed info. But you will have to rewrite it when you get there.)
