Can someone post the point for time on the job please? Also are we still able to do the run & jst for the extra 1/2 PT or that's over?

Turtle I know if you pass its a total of .5 point

Can you take it more than once to pick up perhaps a full point or 2 points? Or is it once you pass its just .5 and thats it?

you can get a total of 2.5 points towards promotion. But that takes 5 years of doing the 1.5 mile run/JST to get to that 5 points.

.2 pts for passing the run once a year + .3 pts for passing the JST once a year = .5 pts every year for a maximum of 5 years = 2.5 pts

You get .2 points for the run and .3 points for the jst. For anyone wanting to do this you have to pass the run before you can schedule to do the jst.

These longevity points, those dates...are they from when you got hired, or from when you got of probation? So if a cop got hired on the job in 2005, do you start getting points at 2005, or 2007? Thanks

I totally agree with you Cry. And thats exactly what i plan on doing. Using the points on the sgt's exam is pretty much a waste. The LT exam is the more competitive exam, and I could use every point possible.

Well since the next Lt exam isn't going to be for another 4-5 years you can get that half point each year for the next 4-5 years. 2-2.5 points on a Lt exam can be huge
