IhaveNoHook I didn't want to believe this rumor, it does sounds crazy, but heard this from brat4914 and another guy and they are almost ALWAYS on point. Highly unlikely yes, but it's also a possibility!
I've heard from a bunch of people that there have been occasions where they've promoted up front and then you go to bmoc as a rookie Sgt for the month. There's always a possiblity for end of Oct but I believe highly unlikely.
JMILZ, I stand by brat4914. If you've been here long enough, or if you just look up brat's old posts, you will see his info is legit.
High600's you just started to post, go back and do your research. Look up the people that are actually posting credible info and you can tell the serious posts from the jokers.

The Lt from bmoc said there is a good chance a nov class might go in and they might be promoted before the test so they'll be eligble. Dcas has already accepted a handful of late registrations for the Lt test from the august class. they will do it for the Sept and Oct. classes. Nothing on this job is for certain. The job does crazy ish all the time. Don't be surprised if they promoted the nov class up front. That's a possible 80x$101. More money for the city. If you're on the brink I would advise you to study and study like you mean it.
Dont get me wrong I know there is no "regular" way of doings, with this job. There are a lot of lil birdies singing and there is some useful info out there. However, Im just saying in the time I've been on this job I have never seen or heard anything like that happening. Im not calling him out, but I just wanted to know who "they" were.
You're not gonna piss on my back and tell its raining.
they are trying to accomodate as many as possible. No one throws out exact numbers this early in the game.........but they are trying to push people through
If they promote nov class upfront that would only allow a day or two to register. If you didn't register when or how would they allow u to register in time? Doesn't seem possible if u didn't file. Any ideas or thoughts?
A good sourced poster, put youd sign up in bmoc... Im sure theyd put the class aside fOr a half hour or so n see who wants to sign up.... As far as would presume bmoc people october n nov classes would be rdo the 29th why would they not excpect you to take the test
LMFAO!!! Little but of all the above Plus my driver is asain... Lol, j/k..... Translation was, i thot Brat had previously posted that it was possible that if they do add these late classes, October and early November, that DCAS MAY, come to BMOC and sign people up last minute... And from my own observations, it seems as BMOC is 4wks monday through friday, w weekends off, therefore if they do have two classes in, id presume theyd be RDO on sat Oct 29th, so why wouldnt the job want you to take the test, its not like it affects force figures... No?!?!
the next 2 groups of 80 will be able to late file because emd will come during bmoc and take applications.
the last group, which (lets assume) gets PROMOTED prior to bmoc will be contacted by emd (prior to the promotion) and ask them if they wish to file. Yes, EMD will know prior to promotion the names of those they will need to contact.
I dont think i can make that any clearer than that !!
U can say a good placed source with inside info. However that number is not set in stone and could change. But I was told that is the number they were pushing for. I guess we will see what happens the closer we get.
And like brat said that number could very well be a mystery however I'm confident More and more I'll get in when a couple months ago I needed a miracle. So I'm thankful to all those individuals on here who shared reliable info. But that is what I was told from someone who is in the middle of things. So take it for what its worth.
Remember, it used to be standard procedure to get promoted upfront and then go to BMOC. I have heard at least two different stories as to why this is no longer the case.
It is true, they used to promote everyone upfront and then do BMOC. From what I heard it's the typical case of us being our own worst enemies. Guys/gals would get promoted and think they were the ****, be typical cop *******s and give instructors guest speakers a hard time cause now they were "Big Sgts". So the job decided to make them go through as cops then get promoted at the end.
I don't know how true it is but someone said apparently there's some lawsuit by the SBA regarding the ratio of cops to Sgts. Apparently there's not enough Sgts to supervise all the cops, anyone hear the same?
