Food for thought...Im studying and im in the 680's...Why...Im taking the Sgt exam over again just in case I am held over for whatever reason and the list expires.  If I get promoted before the Lt Exam then the studying will not be for nothing.. Just me, maybe im crazy...Stranger things have happened.

20yr just study regardless, it will help you review your Sgt responsibilities before they get to your number. I'm in the same boat as you and will be studying again to take the next Sgt test for that just in case scenario. As you study you might as well look at Lt responsibilities because I heard that the Lt test might be getting pushed back to the beginning of 12'. I don't know how true that is but I hope it does come true because then I as long as others might have the chance on being made for the Lt test. I can see it as a possibility since they haven't even announced a date for the Lt test.  Take it for what its worth and good luck to you and everyone.

I'm in the low 500's, and Im not gonna waste my heard earned $$ for the SGT test again. If they stay on course of every other month. Then yes, I'll spend the $$ for the Lt test. You gotta go with your gut and roll them dice.

if you dont file for the lt exam in july and wind up being in a bmoc class up to the day before they give the exam, they WILL let you late file.  EMD will send someone to BMOC to collect apps and $$.

I have to agree with that assessment, seems like they are finaly realizing that they need sgt's.

Now that some of you have more info, plz keep posting your estimated cut off list number eligible to take Lt test.

Rumor has it 2 classes of 80....they are up to 499...585 in September and 670 for October.

Im in the 680s...I doubt ill make it. I gotta say, No way that little class goes in to put me over the top... I personally doubt it, Despite Brats prediction of 220 list names going in before the exam.

I'd say 660 is a pretty safe bet.

There are usually 3-5 passovers and about 2 are usually cleared from being passed over previously.

I think there are 4 people that are sgts already before 700...Those four spots will put some guys over the top!

No way, subclasses to me in the above ... I personally suspect, though brats list, 220 in the forecast before the exam.
