crosswords my friend, i fear, have gone the way of the dinosaur (real dinosaurs, not figuratively speaking of you, ya old bastid). Lt was right, I miss BMOC. To all those waiting to get promoted, GL its a different ball game, hope your ready. Now excuse me Capt. has trafficstat tomorrow so I have to break down all my cops activity for the tour, and read all their PARs and make my 300 required activity log entries, but wait Narcotics just arrived with 9 bodies, and i think i just saw gang pull up with a P van. Housing just came over with 3 under, and IAB is present to take my command log and prisoner roster, cause a perp who punched a cop is in the hospital. I guess the Summons guys waiting for me to scan out their 4 books of movers are gonna have to wait, and yes i know the captain says they have to be out there at the APL's getting failure to yeild to ped. Man i cant wait to sink my teeth into this egg sandwich i had delivered at 10 am. But, wait, I have to take this CCRB, and interview this cop who lost their ID, Nobody knows where to find a Lost or stolen ID form, great. Excuse me ms. PAA super sleuth I know you haven't had a meal yet, but this GLA has to have an alarm put on it within an hour or the ICO is gonna break my balls. Oh, and I have about 16 61's to sign off on, 5 of which were from the previous tour. OH OH and just my luck, my command still has the DO finalize ARCS. Wish I paid attention in Computer school!  Did I mention we are not allowed to assign ADO's? awesome rank! bring on the LTs test!

Oh stop the bitching, you should have been well aware of whats expected unless you completely blind whats going on in the command.

1. Why are you making activity log entries on the desk?
2. Narcotics and Gang have their own bosses and can stamp their own prisoners in. Make sure you have a competent cell attendant
3. IAB can do whatever they need to do around you.
4. Log the summons guys in and tell them to do it themselves
5. That's when you grab another boss (or a cop) and go in the back and eat your egg sandwich for 10 minutes. The desk will be there when you get back.
6. CCRB can wait 5 hours, hey, as long as you don't s-can it.
7. Cop who lost his ID can type out his own lost/stolen ID form
8. Every command usually has a stack of odd paperwork, it's probably there - or call an adjoining command
9. 61's can wait to be signed off on, or have the Compstat Sgt. do it.
10. Then assign stationhouse security, or window, or a limited cop in the 124 room.

Now enjoy your egg sandwich.

LOL, i knew that would get at least a few salty ****s telling me to stop bitching, narcotics and gang bosses dont always come in right away, and the duty captain doesnt want to hear why theres 6 guys in the cells and no stamps bc im waiting for the narcotics boss to come in. I meant command log entries not activity logs, i was just trying to give a half humorous not so fictional account of what its like as a brand new sgt. It was meant to give a chuckle to the original guy who started this thread. Its def alot to take in at first, but nothing I cant handle. Tho I really did have to throw out my egg sandwich the other day. It got cold and I hate microwaving eggs. But you guys truly showed me the light, and the error of my ways, I will repent and be a joyous, optimistic sergeant who will gallantly lead my troops. I owe it all to your sanctimonious retorts. thanks shrimpers

I work in a ****hole and the desk is mayhem too, but do one thing at a time and you'll get thru just fine.

All joking aside can u demote yourself and regain your illustrious command/unit you had as a cop?? Any intel would be very helpful. Also, I heard the 111 holds shrimping tournaments the last Thursday of every month so if someone could tell me where to sign up that'd be great, I've really improved my game over the last few weeks and would like to compete. Schwangtang suck it!!!
