Doesn't seem that there will be a January BMOC Class. But, I just received an email from an instructor at KSA (people who publish the Patrol Guide and the KSA Guide For Patrol Supervisors as well as study courses) Just wanted to share this information, hope you find it useful. Here is the email:
Dear KSA Students & Subscribers:
I've received a number of requests for informaiton regarding the schedule for promotion exams in all ranks. The following are tentative dates for those exams:
Sergeants - June 2012
Lieutenants - October 2011
Captains - March 2012
The next promotion date is scheduled for February 2011. I don't know the numbers but there should be promotions in all 3 ranks.
KSA will provide Home Study courses for all exams after the official announcements are made. We will also provide 2 live classes for each exam, as follows:
1. Dress rehearsal test containing 100 technical knowledge questions & a complete In-Basket.
2. Marathon Class (9 hours), covering all the critical topics.
We are also working on an on-line quizzer that should be ready for the upcoming exams.
The next update for our Guides will be in January. All of our books can be purchased in digital format. These digial books are updated throughout the year, as new Interim Orders & Revision Notices are published.

Dear Santa: Please give us the number of people that will be promoted by then so we don't have spend $600 and devote countless hours our lives to studying for nothing. That is all.

LMAO... your not kidding.. here i am thinkin im on easy street, but Nooooo!
I got doled recently and I asked the cop who shaved my legs if they had word on the next academy class, figuring they might have some insight since they would have to prepare for mass testing. He said that was supposed to be a large class going in January but due to fiscal concerns it is now scheduled for April or June.
I spoke to uniform promotions today. They did not confirm anything to me. However they seamed to want to make sure I was cleared asap. So my GUESS is either they are just real helpful or they are preparing for a class soon.
Ok so a Lt's exam this October? Im around 500 on this list, so I have no idea if I'll even be able to take this if Im not promoted by then. But I cant NOT study because what if I jus tmake it??? That sucks!!! I might study for nothing!!
fodx, a lot of us are facing that dilemma. Just play it by ear. If you are over 200 names away by the time they announce it (around May)...just be aware that they had the slow down around that time last year, and perhaps they may stop promotions again. You have until around June before you would have to fully commit to studying. See how it goes. Read casually for now.
If promotion is set for February 25, then the class should start Monday January 31. I will keep you folks posted as next week approaches.
Hey Lawny..thanks for the responce. Just based on the previous 4 classes they seem to now promote in the 3rd week of BMOC then graduation the 4th wk. So assuming thats the case then the actual class would prob start on Feb.7, promotions on Feb.25 and graduation on Mar.4
If your right and they start Jan.31 then we can expect a Finest by Jan.26 if my guess is right then Finest will prob be Feb.2
Thanks again for the info....I hope one of us right!!!!!

You are 100 percent right I will go with your prediction rather I forgot the three weeks rule. I know promotion ha been scheduled for February 25. Also whoever is getting promoted espect to be notify for phase one for January 25 or the 26 those are the available dates we just received.

I wasn't notified last time around, so I called Uniform Promotions. They told me that I should have been notified, and faxed notification to Roll Call for me. If I were you, I would call them.
in regars to this notifications. my training sgt. told me that there is a 49 about the phase 1 on the c.o.'s desk. he said it has few names from my command. he said also that he will give me the notification on monday.
I remember last year when they started this 5 phase Bmoc some were saying this was only for 5 -6 year guys could this be the reason for some not getting notified?
Another question. I know it may be silly, but what if you caught some virus (flu season) and you really feel like you need to stay home for few days just to cure it. If you call sick (admin or regular), would it possibly reflect your promotion? I would rather call sick now and treat the sickness right than get really sick in february and skip the BMOC. What do you guys think?

If you get sick, you get sick. I don't think anything would hold you up from promotion. You need CED training - if you miss it, you can still graduate but you can't go on patrol until you get the training.
unborn is right... unless u have mono you'll b fine.. plus if your referring to right this instant you still would have two weeks to beat it before the 31st

Find out when CIMS training is, that's a good day to go sick.
