I hope they promote that many classes by March. I'll believe that when I see it.

how did you figure out these picks? did you take tax# to consideration? jammups? or solely based on the list number and score?

I'm in the mid-nineties, made 5 in July, my command tour changed me cuz the date was on my RDO. The 49 came down November 1st from CO of police academy to my CO, ask your admin lieutenant cuz that's who gave me a copy of the 49 today.

HEy that's about right. I had a chance to filter my projected list . there is about 20 names to be removed. between jamed ups, resigned, meld, and already sgts. So like i said, the classes i projected maybe +/- 5 names off. If the continue to promote on a monthly basis till march thats what we looking at. There are 4 names on the next december class that doesn't have 5 years yet. the 9398..... tax number in higher was hired in january of 2006. I am in the 200' list number so i am looking to go in to the 3rd or 4th class.

Can bullsh!t cds hold u up. Im trying to stay straight as an arrow but my command makes it nearly impossible. Alot of spiteful and jealous bosses there.

cd's are command level they wont hold you up .. charges is another story .. before you report to bmoc they have to be adjudicated though

What about not being full duty. I am in the low 100's but I am limited from an LOD need surgery too. Will I still get notified for that 1 day class. I kind of figured if class goes in earl dec, I would get passed over cause will be out for recovery from surgery.

I believe the only exception to the full duty status is pregnancy. Other than that, they will pass you up until you are better, so I hope you get better soon and recover quickly.

What's up everyone. I just came in work and got a notification for the phase 1 tomorrow. My list # is 101. I think a few others stated they also received this, but just in case you wanted to know which list # they were sending to the PA.

To anyone else going, see you Wednesday, and if not, just stay out of trouble, we will all get there soon.

Im actually in that boat. Prob no more than one or two classes out from promotion and i find out my name was picked for the lottery in SCPD.. Although im torn i would prob bite the bullet and take Suffolk. Initial pay cut, acadamy all over again sucks, but its a good department, better quality of living (especially if u live on the island, plus less schedualed apperances and better sick policy etc) and in the end you'll make more. I know its a good problem to have but it just figures... thoughts??

thats tough CCRB ... i guess if i knew 100% suffolk was a lock i'd leave this job ... remember you can always come back to the nypd you have up to a year i believe...take an unpaid leave of absence or something till you complete the academy.

I guess it depends on the individual. From my understanding u get a certain amount per year (13 days first 2yrs up to 26 days after 3yrs) but they're cumulative.. personally in 7yrs with the NYPD i havent gone sick 13 days total, which in SCPD would leave me with about 117 banked! Plus no district surgeon bull$h!t and they pay you for half of them upon retirement. Im sure there are down-sides, such as what if you get mono or something, but to me its better than getting a perfect attendance award for not using them!! no

I almost went to Port Authority about 4 years ago until PD refused to turn over our records.  I'm glad now I didn't go.  Still great jobs, but only problem is you don't have the same security.  If they are having budget cuts, or you f**k up in some way they can just can you.

you know im not sure 100% but i called down to the unit and i was told it is now mandatory for us to attend. Roll call at my command said its not .. i honestly have no more of an idea then anyone else... what i can say is tomorrow while at the class im gonna ask about it among other things for us...ill let you know what they say .. but i wouldnt worry too much about it cause people in bmoc now never had to go to it...

Missy,

Did you call them at BMOC? I read posts last night  to find out about the course. I didn't get notified for tomorrow. So, I called them today. They told me that I should have been notified. Go figure that I wasn't. They then sent a faxed notification to my roll call for me today. If I were you I would call them to find out. Good luck.

Not going to the one day class will NOT get you skipped for bmoc. There are plenty of people in bmoc now that were rdo/vac/not notified and still went to bmoc on monday! No worries if you didn't get notified.

Hey Double:
Took your advise  and called     them, nobody is there right now. Thank you though. I also spoke to my ICO, but he wasn't aware of this training. I am only hoping that I will not be passed over because I didn't go. If you find out any info. tomorrow,   please let  me know. Otherwise, good luck to all of you guys.

I called BMOC yestrerday in regards to the one day class.  I am in the 130's and they said they are not up to my number yet, but should be soon.  They also said you can go to BMOC without going to the one day class.

Ok I just came home from phase 1 today.

1-The 2008 lost is dead as per the CO of unit promotions. Anyone who was skipped or jammed up is dead. So officially we are on 2009 test now.

2-The scheduled date for bmoc is December 13th. It's not 100% set but that what we were told. Nothing about a January class. They didn't sound to enthusiastic about classes after the December one but who knows.
The LT said if we go in december 13th, people who have 5 years in January would go in because they would graduate and have 5 years on.

3-They are putting a LT class in the Tuesday before thanksgiving, about 30 lt's.

Any other questions lemme know.

Was at phase one today, everything BimpGod said was accurate, I heard 60-70 going in december 13th (tentative date), it was a good day, LT. said he notified 100 people for the 1 day class, but I only counted around 50 or so people.

Sounds like all the guys who make 5 years in january who got passed over should be good to go for December, an the december class will be home for x-mas an the new years detail.

Good luck to everyone, stay safe
