October 4th or maybe November 1st....No later thn New years
This waiting sucks...I took the exam with 41/2 years on...I was psyched that i might be a 5 1/2 year Sgt.. I just hit 6...Probably get promoted at 71/2 or 8 years. a wrench in my plans...At this rate Lt at freakin 13/14 captain by retirement time.

Maybe November; but most likely Jan or February. It is all contingent on what happens in Albany this next week or so. The A-holes up there have to make a budget that is 90 days passed due..this is why there have been no promotions. Once they get the budget going, Im pretty sure they will start promoting shortly after. So keep your ears on Albany...Blind leading the Blind...Pardon the pun...lol
Class in July, Class in September or October...Powers that be don't want to start this list and get clock ticking..They will put first class in After New year...then announce sgt exam in summer 2011 for early 2012
def by fall or winter this year. after the july academy class goes in, we will prob have a better idea. supposedly its anywhere from 1,200 to 1,600 im hearing. they will need a bunch of sgts to coach those rookies in impact lol. so well see. smh

Its hard to believe that it has been 2 long years to the day since i popped open the PG for this exam. I sincerely thought i would be in or at least very close to promotion by now. What a joke.
Whats the likelihood that they don't promote everyone on this list? Is it 4 years from the day they establish the list, 4 years from the day the list starts promoting, or 4 years from when the list hits the chief (publicized)?
My two cents...Im sure the 1 to 8 ratio will begin catching up to itself pretty soon...early 90's guys are leaving...big classes...lieutenant promotions...
My thing is, Is the department a little nervous about promoting a guy with a 75; four years after he studied?
i still have a little faith; it is just my luck though. I took 3 weeks off and studied 3 hours a day for 5 looong months. During the last two weeks prior to the exam, i was studying btwn 6-8 hours a day-7 days a week. not to mention the money spent at fast track....its a damn nightmare.
I slowed down ambitions at work, banking on promotion...I was better off fishing for a detail and o.t.

They promoted 80 sgts so far this year up to august. In order to get to this list in 2010, they need to promote 170 sgts on the old list (150 left + 20 skip overs). Sorry but they are not promoting 170 in the next five months.
Sure they are. They just hired a class if 1249 cops. 1 & 8 rule. Theyll ne ed sergeants by the time these guys graduate. Plus since they havent had a class this size in 18 months, i am sure sergeants will have to go instruct at the academy, so they will have to be replaced on the street There is also a class eligible for retirement in October. The 2008 list will be history soon enough. Everyone needs to chill out and stop worrying about things we have no control over
