CALLED TO 1 CENTRE STREET

just got a letter in the mail directing me to 1 Centre street. Letter says to bring assorted paperwork to establish my veterans preference, and to fill out some questionaire. I guess this is a sign the list is close to being finished although i did get a 96 so maybe they are just starting lol ? ..... any veterans pass the exam that ever heard of this please let me know. No one that i know who passed is a vet so they never heard of it or anything.

Bro, congrats on your  96, but I would not use your vet credits. Save it for the LT test,  you can only use them once.

i havent gone yet the letter i received said my appointment is for the middle of july. I'm not going to use my vet credits because ill save them for my LT's exam I got in the upper 90's as is. So im going to go down there to tell them not to use them and maybe try and find out when our list is coming out. As soon as i finish down there ill post whatever i can get....

They called me and I went down yesterday. I don't know what I scored on the exam (lost my copy), so I don't even know if I passed.

They wanted the paperwork for proof of my veterans points. Since I don't even know if I passed and if I did what score I received, I didnt' tell her not to use the points.

I suppose either way I should have told her no. Maybe I'll give her a call and tell her not to use them...

Peace.

Has this been done in the past. For older exams, can anyone advise if they did this last year? how long after this process last year did they establish the list. PS thanks for your service fellas.

If I can recall correctly:  Last years test they put a class in before the list was made public.  That was around August.  A week later the full list was published.  Some of the names on that first wave didn't even meet all the requirements, and they didn't add in all the necessary additional points either.  So who knows what is gonna happen this go round.

Did anyone of you speak to someone with more then 3 years on the job before signing up for the sgt exam? Why in the world would anyone use veteran points for the sgt exam?

The sgt exam is a pass = promotion.

Last year's August class was from the 2007 exam. I know because i was in the class. It was near the end of the list and some 5 year wonders like myself that didnt make the July class. Few people that had some jam ups too that got settled.

Hey Rich-PD, when you went down there did you by any chance get any info as far as when they'll publish the list, how many passed, etc?? Anything we can chew on??

Hopefully....the other tests that I took they never called me for so hopefully this is a good sign.

I did ask the lady about my score and if I passed and when the list will come out and she basicallly deflected all my questions and said "your department will tell you all that. We don't have that info."

I was a little surprised, but she was incredibly nice and easy on the eyes so her answer was sufficient enough for me...hehe...

Peace.
