this raise is a fvcking godd damm JOKE. wtf am i going to do with an extra $7 a pay check? pay my babysitter for an extra 10 minutes of work? or maybe get an extra fvcking happy meal at McDonalds. so let me get this straight? i supervise cops n tell them to do something... they mess up n throw me under the bus by saying the boss told me to do it. i get a CD n the cops dont get in trouble but hey look at the bright side! i make an extra 7 dollars a check! WHOOPTY FVCKING DOO! if any SGT who reads this n thinks thats ok is an idiot! and ANY PO that thinks im a baby n doesnt wanna read this go F urself!! there is no way a cop should make MORE then HIS supervisor unless hes doing 200 more hours in o.t. everybody says wait till top pay. i say Fvck that. im a supervisor NOW n should b paid as such!!!!!! BOTTOM LINE!!

FYI....

By extending the contract by 30 days, the "aka" retro check going to the group of 06-08 sergeant is funded by senior sgts...The money saved for those 30 days goes towards the retro. So technically every sergeant is funding for this so called retro. What a joke, some people think the city was giving the SBA a bone... What an insult that this proposed amendment is funded by senior sgt, but the fact of the matter is, it shouldn't be funded by any of us but other than the city.

RULE XI - CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION OF CAREER AND SALARY PLAN POSITIONS- (NYC Civil service law)

In order to implement the career and salary plan, each position or class of positions subject thereto shall be classified under a standard title and allocated to an appropriate salary grade as soon as practicable following the adoption of this rule, and, upon such position classification and salary grade allocation, the commissioner of citywide administrative services shall establish schedules of equivalent titles indicating in each case the former title of each position and the standard title and salary grade to which such position is classified and allocated.

Key words "appropriate salary grade"

The only reason 2006-2007 sgt are getting a retro is because of the disparity between 06-07 cops and 06-07 sgts. The city is adjusting 06-08 sgt paygrade because it fails the "appropriate salary grade" for that position.


Listen, I don't mind steps for our top pay status. However, the first step should be at least 3k over a top pay cop or 3rd grade detective.
