Protest Questions for March 11th

Today I received my notification to attend the protest session on March 11th. If anyone did not send in or forgot to send in their request forms, you can tell me the question that you want to protest and why and I'll do it for you.

I will be checking this thread until the night of March 10th and will write down the names and questions of everyone listed here with requests. If you can't recall the question number it's ok, describe it and I'll look it up once I get there.

I know that handwritten notes are not allowed so I'm planning to type everything. For those familiar with the process, are any typed notes allowed and are the Key materials allowed besided the PG?

I will protest every question that I got wrong! If anyone else if going to protest please do the same thing.

hell yeah!! good for you ..we woked hard on this test.. this year they asked for the most correct answer on almost every question.. usually yhey mix it up w, what should the sgt do or not do...i think they are going to get alot of protest..  maybe one or two will get thrown out n maybe that will save a few who deserve it.. let us know, if u need more, assistance....good luck!!!

Bee, thats nice of you to do for the rest of us. Are u gonna protest the Angel Dust question? Apparently they used Plastic Envelope instead of Plastic SECURITY envelope. And the order of the enevelopes was wrong: 2 Plastic, 1 Narco instead of 1 plastic, 1 narcom 1 plastic. So theres two reason right there. Hopefully it gets thrown out because I totally blew this.

Yes, I'll protest it. Jewelry envelopes are also plastic.

Out of curiosity I looked at last exam's final answer key. There were no questions "thrown out" BUT there were two questinos that they gave double answers. Like the answer was A and/or B. So if u had A or B u got credit for it. So its definitely worth protesting even if it seems like a longshot. I think even just a decent argument has a chance of narrowing down the answers. You never know. GO GET EM!

I think that last year's exam had two double answers and at least one question thrown out. My friend had a 68 initially and ended up with a 71 when the final answer key came out, so there must have been one thrown out.

You can look up the final answers keys for the 2007 and 2008 tests on the DCAS website yourself.  2007 had 4 Double answers and 2 thrown out.  2008 test had 2 double answers and none thrown out.

I hate when people talk about stuff they no nothing about.

I had no interest in the 2008 exam so I did not hold my breath for the final answer key to come out and did not care how many questions were thrown out or had double answers. A good friend of mine had a 68 with the DCAS initial answer key and then he told me that he made the list. I asked if he gained any points and he said that he ended up with a 71. He has 16 years on the job so he obviously did not include his seniority. It was probably an error or a fib on his part. I would never think that he would fib so I truly believed there were questions thrown out. I was wrong. Anyway, that's what I based my post on.

Fmzac, hating is such a strong feeling especially for something this insignificant.

I know I'll never forget where I came from, I've been treated like sht through my 11 year career. including newly promoted Sergeant stopping me and questioning me for no reason, and his operator slaming the passenger door on me. And I was calm, professional. I was treated worst than the biggest criminal. And that helped me be a better person.

If only one question had to be protested on this test it should be number 37, which was the one that needed correction. Or if they don't throw it out it should be like last years exam and have a double answer. Either A or D.

I agree, #37 should definitely be trashed. By the way anyone know how long it take to actually know if its thrown out or not? do they make u wait months again?

I disagree about question 37. I got it wrong but the most correct answer was D.

Bee, definitely protest as many questions ar you can.  I got a 68, and like an idiot, didn't sign up for the protest session in time.  If you can, protest the use of force question.  It was the question which gave four statements regarding the use of force.  Two of the choices were completely wrong by stating to **** your firearm before shooting, and the other was to shoot at a moving vehicle.  But the answer was between A, and B.  A- stated something like you can not fire warning shots, except in extreme emergencies when no other means of communication is available.  (They are refering to summons for assistance but never said that).  B- stated you can not fire at a fleeing felon under any cercumstances, which is wrong because there are cercumstances in which you can fire at a fleeing felon, like when the felon is using deadly force on you or another while fleeing.  How do you chose the most correct answer when all the choices are wrong.  If I think of others I will but them up on this posting.  Also, yes you can't bring written notes but make sure you bring your patrol guide to look up each question you got wrong and find inconsistencies in the questions, thats what its for.  Good luck, and let us know how it went after its over.

anyone who goes to the protest session, what was question 61? it is an even split,
61) A 12A 12D 1B ???
I had D, actual answer was A, if that is a double answer, my 69 becomes a 70!

The following are the main questions that I will be protesting tomorrow. For all the others that I got wrong I will write a generic type protest that states that the question was confusing as written by the examiners, that the answer choices were unclear and not precisely as stated in the PG. I will say that at the very least the questions should have a double answer, the DCAS one and mine. Ayway, that's the plan!

4-B force figures
37-D correction handout
40-B b/c leaning B
45-B b/d leaning D
52-D d/a leaning D
62-unknown
63-unknown
68- D d/c leaning C
76-C c/b/a leaning C
83-C c/d 50/50
85-C b/c leaning B
90-A everyone seems to have C

Use of force
Found narco and OCCB
Manhole explosion
Angel dust

Can I take in the room my Key lessons with the PG? Nothing is handwritten.

If anyone has a specific question and reason why it should be thrown out let me know soon so that I can prepare for tomorrow. I have to read your reason a few times to be able to recall it tomorrow.

Sorry, I can't remember any details either, but may be if you contact the instructor of the class you attended and see if any of them took the test and remember, they could help you.   I din't attend any classes ,I studied on my own ....that's probably why I got a 69.....
Good luck!!!!!
