For the last test they allowed day of walk in's .anyone know how that works? money order ,cash etc? how would you know for this test if there gonna do that? not asking for me but for a friend.

I think the 'walk-in' procedure is just for people who didn't receive their card in the mail.  They allow you to take the test but if it turns out you never properly registered before the deadline it won't count.
