3 main reasons why smaller and less frequent classes are going in

1. The Jan academy class canceled--less cop's, less Sgt.'s are needed.
2. The mayor's office ask all city agencies to cut spending by 30%
3. The stock market crisis killed a lot of Sgt's, who were about to retire 401k and deferred comp, so the only way to recoup a lot of these loses is to stay longer and ride out the storm.

Fear not friends in these scenario's you have winner's and loser's

1. The loser's
 Since more than half of the cops who pass the 2008 Sgt exam. lack the time on to get promoted {and most of them scored high on the test}
The guys who scored below 75% with the time on who thought they were going to skip a whole lot of people, are now stuck, and time is of the essence Jan 09, and july 09 are dates to watch a whole lot of five year wonders are going to be eligible, especially july 09.

2. The winner's
Cop's who scored 75% or better who will become eligible Jan 09, and even July 09 the posibility exist that you wont get skip, plus you will have seniority over more Sgt if you get made first.

p.s do not take this to heart- i am hurting too.
