JUST SPOKE TO UNIFORM PROMOTIONS, LIST TO BE ADJUSTED

THIS BLOWS. The list # we ALL have will be adjusted. They assigned list #'s to everyone (including those in BMOC) and added throw out points and veteran credits but forgot to add senority points.  They have to re-adjust the list we have. SORRY. I was reading what I had.  Uniform Promotions said  its gonna take a week to fix.  Dont know what that means for the guys in BMOC who may have scored lower then others who were passed over because they left out seniority points.

So it's possible that there are people in BMOC who are not going to be promoted after adjusted list has been established because somebody else might have actually a higher (true) list number than they have. Does it mean they will be send back to command?

I am totally confused. I was told the list that we are all looking at shows your raw score, but your list number had everything factored in and will not change.

Do you really think the department would send a finest telling the boros to disseminate this list only to change everyones list numbers? They have been promoting for decades. Would an oversight like this really happen?

I hope its not true but if it is than this department really is an embarrasment

Same rumor is floating around in my command, too. But cops being suspicions by nature, leaving crucial information like your final/bottom line score out and just publish a list number doesn't just sound right to me.

How can one trust a list like this one when you same score gives you a different list number?

The boro faxed this list to the commands. Most commands I know have it. I have it. They put guys in BMOC based off it. ITS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS. I am happy with my list number and now prob gonna be bumped up 100 names. IT SAYS RIGHT ON TOP DCAS NYPD PROMOTION LIST TO SGT 671 names.

Thats what I'm saying. I know the department doesn't care about us but they do care about covering their ass.
Why would they create a headache for theselves by putting out list numbers only to have to change them? Theoretically there might be guys sitting around right now that will end up with better list numbers that some in bmoc! Lawsuit?

Also, about the unit that gets the lists....this their main function and they do it all the time. Does anyone really think they would make a mistake like this?

I hear what your saying... for all we know you should be in BMOC now, when joe schmo might be gettin promoted with the wrong list# IT F*CKS everyone over... but finest just came down "Inacurate List to be corrected and re established with seniority points Sept 15th" This job is a joke. How do you forget the most imortant type of added points.

Before I begin I want to give a shout out to my 62 squad buddy who is reading this very closely. He is now officially a rising star after seeing his name in writing yesterday!(although it won't stop him from being sent back the "squad"when BMOC is over).
Anyway, the commissioner of EMD came into BMOC today and told us that the list doesn't account for any seniority or medals or fitness points.DCAS dropped the ball on this and is working through the weekend to fix the problem with a new list coming out next week.Anyone on the list from today is still on it somewhere. The names are finalized but not the final score.
As far as true list #'s,they are not accurate as a previous post asked about. My number was in the 70's with an 82 and someone with an 83 was in the 40's.The person with an 83 has 4 years time compared to my 11 years. There is no way with his points he would surpass me on the list. It's mathematically impossible.Which goes to show that the list numbers were given out on raw score alone not taking into consideration additional points. So every single person will have a different list number when the real list comes out including #671smile.Good luck to all!
