There is a rumor going around that there will be 4 questions thrown out and about 900+ passed. Can anyone confirm it? And is there any way we can find out what questions were thrown out?????
Its all rumors until the list comes out. Rumors are that 500 to 1000 passed and that 3 to 6 questions will be thrown out. So whatever rumor allows you to sleep better at night go with it.
That test was very fair and a lot easier than the 2003, 2006, and 2007 exams. It seems that year by year its getting easier, just like the requirements for this stupid job.

5,000 plus took the 08 test and about 500 passed..... They are not getting easier, I just think we are seeing it more often and understanding the format of questions

Did you take the 03,06,07 exams? How do you figure the 08 test was much easier? If you took the key rewrites of said exams the only thing that was easier was the in basket, which was pretty much 13-15 points up front. If more people pass this test it is simply because they decided to give a gift inbasket. Many people on this site and those I have spoken to are in the 70-80 range and with a more difficult in basket I think those passing with low 70 to mid 70's would be failing by 2 or 3 questions. Just my opinion.
Believe it or not, if I was a good test taker, I would have passed my first exam in 2003 AND what REALLY helped me was the NYPD practice exams that was was posted in the department intranet.
I just want to correct myself, the tests may not be getting easier, but a lot more SIMPLIFIED. Those who don't believe me try studying the next exam with the department intranet.

the on-line test did actually help and its a good idea for the dept. to continue them for all promotional exams. atleast 3 of the on-line tests questions were on the test. just worded slightly different.
2003 test 7000 took it only 20 people got above a 90.Brutally hard test..There is no longer a good study ethic.THE PEOPLE WHO PUT THE TIME IN usually PASS.SOME PEOPLE WALK IN and expect to pass.They are still not giving it away.
I agree with wileone. as a 4 time loser (LOL) I can honestly say that this test is the easiest one in some years. Easier because it was more simplified. They had a lot less trickery questions and more straight foward questions. What makes the test difficult the last few years is that they are going deep into the procedures and attacking the notes and additional data which makes your general knowledge of the patrol guide useless, YOU HAVE TO READ THE PATROL GUIDE, THE CLASSES ALONE WON'T CUT IT.
