Yeah ok. I can barely put out 4 sector cars in my command. The city is a joke and everyone that lives in the city knows it and wants no part of it. 1 in 100 qualifies to get on the job as per CAU. You need 160,000 applicants even make the cut of 1600 using the formula from Candidate Assessment of 1 in 100 makes it in for one reason or another.

Lol. Why would anyone want to take a job where most of the people in it want to leave. Treat who you have right make this an actual working environment and maybe things will get bettter.

The city uses us as band-aids to address a ridiculous amount of problems, which comes at a price that is typically paid for by the cops. For over a decade now, it has been do more with less, all while our elected officials are there vying to be the first to cast stones at us. They have ruined this career path in what was the greatest city and department in the world, and it only took 10 years to do so. The biggest cause of their failed recruitment efforts has got to from all of us telling friends and family to take this job as a last resort. Go back 15, 20, 30 years almost every cop getting on the job was the relative or close friend of another cop. There was pride, there was respect. Now, we tell anyone that will listen to look anywhere but here. And its showing, dramatically. I know a tool from APD, who laughingly tells us how far their standards have fallen just so they can get enough candidates to fill these classes. Lowering the bar? Soon enough, theyll be forced to remove it completely. Mark my words, its going to get a lot worse before it even begins to get better. They will keep using and abusing us, continuing the cycle of mass retirements, poor recruitment, and drinking/suicides from those of us that have no option but to stay and deal with this madness day in/day out for the next X-amount of years.

1600 academy recruits means 1 out of 100 actually gets the job (data from recruiting), that means roughly 160,000 people have to take and pass the entrance exam. I dont see it happening this quickly with QUALITY, but as usual the barrel scraping will commence.

As of now , 1000 recruits being sworn in on 1/29.
Backfill of 200 to be sworn in February. I was very skeptical
But CAD has assured the numbers are correct. My question is
what are the caliber of candidates that will be sworn in ?
Any thoughts ?
