We will likely see more than the normal 200-250 in 2024 since they are down approx 150 LT right now. Should be similar to whats happening with the Sgts list. They around list #550 in 8 months. Took almost a year and a half to get to that number for the 2017 sgt list.think they were down around 500 when they started hiring off that 2022 exam

More retirements are coming. 12hr tours is expanding. Theyll hit 300 for 2024 for sure, but I truly believe well touch close, if not 400.

I think a class of 100 is unlikely. If theres 150 vacancies theyre not gonna erase the vacancies and have an excess of 50 Lt in just two months. Ill predict a tops of 75 for January. No source, just speculation

I agree I think they will ease in with a class of 50-75 most likely and end the year around 250ish and probably do another 200-250 for 2025 depending on the vacancies and how many Captains they promote

Now that we Know the list is out and its looking good for 2024, a little off topic but guys lets keep our people safe for the holidays, for some reason this time of year has historically been tough for cops getting hurt. Anyone with a little bit of time on can think back and see that this has been true for our Department as well as others across the country around this time of year. Maybe the holidays bring out craziness in society and were there to deal with it, anyway stay safe.

Doubtful. What would be more relevant? A promotion date 6 years ago? Or the current schedule of bmoc classes? I say end of January. Never know though.

Reasons for Passover: Jammed up, CARB, Restricted/OutSick, less than 2 years in Rank, Retiring, Voluntary Pass, less than 96 credits. List of 1218 youll have 50-100.

I agree. There are a bunch on here with the money and a few with 20+. I can see 100 being eliminated or retired which will essentially have this list around 1100.

With Passovers and the amount of vacancies I agree. The first 150 will be promoted by March latest. I can see 30-40 every other month and maybe 1 or 2 back to back months. Which will get this to 400 ish. After that itll slow down dramatically like the captains list. Everyone will get promoted but this list will run the 4 year course.

You either never were jammed up nor personally know someone jammed up. Im not trying to insult you, but I can guarantee you that the job purposely holds ppl til last second as a way of punishment.
if you get in trouble, get suspende/modified for a year, go to trial and pay your penalty. Do your one year of probation. Stay out of trouble. Why other reason could justify continuously being skipped for promotion?

Good ol PC Kelly days. That guy would keep you modified as long as he pleased. CARB? Good luck passing on first try. I dont think the job is fucking with them right now, and I do agree if they were going to promote them, they wouldve last promotions, therefore imo the next class going in will contain only new list ppl.
