Nice to see that DCAS learned NOTHING from the 2 day fiasco of the Sergeant exam!

This is deflating news.
But on the positive side, with all the Sgts going out sick, the errant spills and booger wall decorations around the supv locker room urinals has been kept at a comfortably low level.

At the very least, list will be huge due to curve/lawsuits. Who cares anymore? The city clearly is willing to do stupid shyte like this over and over again and just give into lawsuits rather than actually have a fair test.
For the Sergeant exam was it the same test or different test ?

They changed the wording on some questions so the answers would be different
Papi825 said
Mar 1, 2023
Even tho the exam was worded a bit different, it was the same procedures. Anyone who took it day 2 and had access to that information had a huge advantage. If there was a specific procedure you didnt bother to read and you saw it made the test, you best believe that you were going to read it the day before and get a point you wouldve originally let go. This is very dumb for the job/DCAS to go through with this all over again. Shows you how much they care lmfaoo.

Haha, because I'm sure thousands of NYPD Sergeants will tell their buddies, "I'm sorry, but as an MOS I must be incorruptible. While I understand your desire to know what was on the exam, I cannot compromise my integrity to help you. I hope this doesn't spoil our friendship. Good luck on the exam."
By about 1400 hours on March 23rd it's going to be a frenzy for info on what procedures were tested, likely worse than what we saw after the Sergeants exam, since we now know DCAS is too lazy to administer two entirely different exams. It's really a shame, it ruins the fairness and of these exams.

Well then if you took the test on the first day and tell everyone else that hasn't taken it yet on Day 2, then you are hurting yourself because they will score higher than you. It's not that difficult. Go ahead and tell your friends. They will score higher than you and be promoted before you. Don't cry when that happens.

The day one test is going to be curved to have the same # of passers compared to the day two test before they start throwing out questions, and then they will curve it again.

Lets take a survey on how challenging we think this exam will be.
1. Ground ball
2. Fair
3. Difficult

I get everyone is upset. But w the law firm involved, doesnt mean day 1 test wont be scaled differently to account for this imbalance. Relax and see the list first before you get all upset about advantages. In the end raw passing score means nothing compared to final list passing scores

I get it bro. Maybe in the end it works out, but why even do this to begin with? I would much rather have all taken the same exam at the same time. And ofcourse no one is to blame but those from day one who passed along info, but theres always going to be that guy helping out a friend regardless of the time an effort he himself put in.

Good luck day 1 folks, you guys and gyals are so screwed. Day 2 will take an open book test while the day 1 people will get destroyed. This is absurd, they got rid of lucky Saturday to lucky day 2. You want to complain? DCAS got the last laugh. IAB investigation goes no where, they will run it for 18 months and close it. No body cares about anything.

Skel the reason they cant do on one day is the space and logistics issue. Most ppl took test on one day bc it wasnt on computers and then ppl scammed like crazy. Trust me on this, the law firm looks at every stat imaginable. Race sex day 1 vs day 2. The grades are scaled at that point based on the stats. Previously 15 percent of regular test takers would pass vs like 80 percent of the after test takers. Just have faith and focus on the end game of being promoted

get destroyed? Idk about all of that, if you studied well youll do your thing regardless. I scored well on the Sgt exam first session first day. Its unfortunate that these guys do things this way, and yes theres a bit of an advantage for the 2nd day people, but these things are out of out control.

Plus its not like sgt list, promotion isnt monthly which mean higher probability of list getting cut. A few point differences can be months or even a year apart. So if day 1 takers are brilliant enough to share by all means go ahead lol. Friendship is great and all but at the end of the day your letting your competitors get promoted before you makes absolutely no sense.

If you are in a Dcas site you get the grades. Sgt test was a non doe site and I have no clue why that is. I personally know a person w a 59 who got vet points so they passed on day 1. So just let the process play out. Will never be 100 percent on the level but as long as youre promoted and you put in the time, who cares
