Does anyone have an idea if there have been throwouts or double answers on previous Captain exams or is this rare compared to Sergeant and Lieutenant exams? I know anything is possible but lets say you get a 69 or 68 is there realistically a chance of making it? Also, Im wondering if Lieutenants care enough to attend the protest session at all or they just take the score and move on.

I would have to disagree, I could guarantee you AT LEAST 3 throwouts. Very clear throwouts, and that doesn't even consider the double answers.
I'm also hearing this test had an average score of the mid 60's. Still unknown how many passers though.

Believe me..there is no one more than me that would love to bash the fraud that is DRpapi. But even he remembers what it felt like during the 2015 Lt exam and would not even think about submitting the questions to DCAS that we saw on that exam. The exam writers were probably the same haters that didnt want the 2015 Lt exam list expanded. if you remember there were a handful of then sgts that were pissed at the 9 heroes for their lawsuit. What makes things even worst is that the majority of the exam writers probably took the straight forward 2017 capt exam. The more and more I think about it, especially those exam writers who submitted those obscure questions to DCAS, the more pissed I get!

I could confirm that at least TWO of the exam writers took and barely passed the easiest Captain's exam in the history of the NYPD. They were both in the 70's for that easy exam, yet they gave us this garbage.

Getting back to my original question. Id say almost every Sergeant and Lieutenant exam given over the last 20 years has had throwout/double answers of some sort. Anyone have info if that happened with prior Captains exams, does this happen just as often as the other ranks? Do Lieutenants show up to protest?

By far the most difficult Captains exam in NYPD history. Still sticking with the 120 rumor,.hope its not true,we will soon find out.

Everyone involved is to blame. From the exam writers, to DCAS, to the NYPD. No one put in a good effort to create a decent/fair exam.
I feel bad for the Sgts about to take the Lieutenants exam. I'm hearing the LTs that will be selected will only have 6 weeks to create questions for that exam. The captain exam writers only had 8 weeks, so just imagine the debacle-to-be with the LT's exam.
