This is it! 99% of the work is done! Time to go in there and apply what you’ve learned these past few months!
Tony and I wish you all the best! and remember… do not discuss specific questions until after Thursday.

Relax and start doing things to reduce anxiety, such as:
1. Making sure you know where the test location is and how to get there—and that you have enough time—if your car breaks down/trains are delayed, etc. (ie Uber is downloaded, someone on standby to drive you, etc. Also that you have at least 2 alarms or more that morning to make sure you get up).
2. Admission notice is printed! 2 copies (and don’t keep them together).
3. Check to make sure your ID is not expired and the name there matches the name on your admission notice.
4. You have face masks! practice doing some questions with it on. Why? Because the admission notice says you need to have one and you must wear it during the exam!
5. Know what your caffeine/food needs are during the time you’ll be taking the test. You are allowed bathroom/water breaks—but that’s it. If you get headaches if you don’t get a second cup of coffee then make sure you get some before going in. Do a dry run tomorrow… pretend it’s test day and eat/get enough caffeine to last you 4.5-5.5 hours…
6. Calculator—make sure you have one, as per the specs on the notice. You may not need it but they’re allowing you to bring one—so bring one.

Might be a silly question, but should we not be carrying inside the Javits? The admission notice doesn't specifically say anything about no guns or having to go through a metal detector. To be safe I'll just leave my off-duty at home, but it will be funny to watch a thousand cops running to Midtown South to throw their guns in the property locker after being turned away at the entrance.

There are no metal detectors at Javitz.

Are PHONES allowed in the building? I believe the admission notice says your phone will be secured in some type of ziplock style bag and cannot be retrieved during the duration of the exam. BUT the Chief of Personnel sent out an Admin Bulletin Email stating no phones will be allowed inside the testing site and Personnel Investigation and IAB will be on site to make sure these rules are adhere too. Im taking the LIRR in and out of the city rather know now than scrambling to go to MTS to secure my phone.

Being that DCAS is giving you the option of showing your
notice on your phone and saying it has to be turned off, Im assuming yes, you can have it on you
