Low pass rates, little to no information regarding exam dates or format--and so much more! These are just some of the reasons why we are forming a coalition to help future leaders of the Department!

Not really usually its like 8-10% I think, the 2016 exam before the curve only about 1200 people passed and around 13,000 cops took it so that was about 9%. They may just be saying the average historically back when less cops took the exam

around 5% is the extreme low; we don't want another repeat of the 2015 lieutenant exam!

We're not sure yet. The schools are not merging, but the collaboration will hopefully allow us to sit down with DCAS and get them to be more transparent and organized with these exams. The truth is, the more messed up and disorganized they are the better for us, right? More students paying $$$ because of fear of the unknown--but it's not fair!
The sergeant, lieutenant, and captain exams, individually, was way harder and stress-inducing than the bar exam. The bar exam was a joke compared to these tests in terms of preparation, stress, anxiety, uncertainty, wait-times between exams, etc...

Yes, Captain Insanos exam was a miscarriage of justice for hundreds of us. Luckly the 9 heroes fought back and changed the exam process for us going forward. However, that being said, you never know what DCAS has up its sleeves. That is why you have to prepare for all scenarios. Everyone taking the Sergeant exam do yourself a favor and sign up for rising star promotional school. Its the best insurance policy money can buy. Trust me!

"Bundle the Key AND Rising Star for the Sergeant Exam. $795 for 2 schools!"
Nice to see the guys who sign up late get a discount, and those of us who signed up right away had to pay more...

It's been that way for years...price gets cheaper as time-to-exam decreases. Not really anything new. I get the frustration, but that discount comes at the cost of probably not having cracked a book in 3 months. Almost in the homestretch...just focus on your progress and try to blank out everything else. Take it from me...the stress just tends to get worse as exam day approaches.

Are these exams expected to be more straightforward or are they still going to be similar to the 2015 Lts exam

all 3 exams given in 2017 were really fair..and then a ton of people lucked out when they tossed all those questions and extended the list. my point prepare for a tough test , hopefully its fair then you score at the top
