So even with this class of 75 sgts, and with the 40 Lts going in vacancies are probably still about 400

I literally just got a call yesterday morning telling me somewhere CLOSE to 500 vacancies. I did not believe it enough to post it, but here we are now! lol Numbers make sense with the 75 going in now to be at 426.

Unfortunately the vacancy numbers have become irrelevant. Its all about The finances now. Just the fact that promotions have to be approved by City Hall pretty much confirms it. Hopefully by the summer were in a much economic time with a possible state bail out and Covid numbers down dramatically, we will be able to go back to pre-COVID times in regards to promotions.

Lets not fool ourselves. We know the Mayor plays the piper on TV for the "masses", but deep down in the swamp, the Commish says hey boss, I need XX Sgts and Lts to keep supervision afloat, the Mayor says ok where do I sign. To think that "city hall" will say NO to additional supervision is in theory, ridiculous.
