Why are you guys in a rush to get bounced to Patrol as the midnight platoon commander, working 8:45s working 45 minutes a day for FREE? And most of all losing all your chart days.

The simple answer is the sooner you get promoted the quicker you become a top pay Lieutenant.

Hahaha he's actually at the very bottom of the list, so he tries to make himself feel better for not knowing how to do well on a simple exam.

LOL No I didnt fail, and i will obviously have to take the promotion if it comes, but I still question why people want So badly to give up so much. Try not earning any chart days for what will most likely be the rest of your career. And working an extra 45 min a day for free basically offsets the raise. Just saying. And PD2FD, if youve followed this board long enough youll see Ive been saying this same thing for years.

I know you've been saying this for years, and I know that you didn't fail, but are towards the bottom of the list. You're trying to discourage others to bypass the promotion so that you can get promoted, I get it
The LT rank is still a decent rank, especially if you're in a nice gig getting overtime. Yes, not getting chart days suck ass, but you can always work OT in time to accumulate "chart days" and no one will question you. A LSA or LCD in a nice gig will always be better than a SSA in a nice gig. You lose some benefits with the promotion but then gain some, especially financially.
Also, don't forget overtime is being crunched in most places. If you want to increase your pension, just get promoted. A top pay day tour LT walking through the door with little to no OT will make a minimum of $150k per year. Add night diff and some OT and you'll be able to break $200k. It's a no brainer, take the promotion.

Take if from someone promoted... I can care less about chart days or the 45 minutes a day for free. The Salary is a nice bump and my OT Rate is higher than a SGT. The amount of work you do as a LT compared to a Sgt is mind blowing (as in a lot less).... yeah and 45 minutes extra a day in the lounge with full sleep differential... 8:57 to 8:45 is a break in itself. Also, you can ALWAYS find a way to make TIME OT as a LT. plenty of BWC reviews etc and "admin work" to take care of... Take the promotion, its life changing. All the haters will hate until its their turn.

No Capts. Only Lts & Dea. 40 Lts approved. Another 20 were submitted and waiting budget approval.
25 on 2/23
Why so few with over 300 vacancies....

So there is a possibility for 60 LTs to go in if there is approval ?
Yes, it seems to be a possibility.
Yea, I hear ya but the vaccines are there. Its just all about the budget and the city council approving it.

40 LT promoted this round for Friday.
