It seems legit...I received an email from John Jay for some of the other exams, I cross-referenced the exams and it looks real.

I dont know why this is surprising. Theyll have a test sometime late 2021 and start promoting after this current one has expired. This is
How its always worked.

Doesnt mean the info is up to date though w current plans. This could have been pre covd plans w things changing due to fiscal constraints

What does this mean about the current list? Will any more be promoted from the current list?

Also why does the top of the page say this is through June 2020?

Well it depends what numbers you are. If your close enough you might still make it right? This doesnt mean this list is getting cut. Hopefully they start promoting In January with big classes.

List wont be cut until minimum 4 years so January 2022. Thats should be a well known fact. Will it get extended? If this info is up to date then its definitely no. If its not accurate then its still up in the air

Yano just posted about it.
"DCAS posted on their website that filing would begin in January 2021. Usually, an exam would be given about 6 months after filing for the exam.
Is the DCAS post accurate?
Until the Department announces an exam, we can not rely on this information. A soon as the Department announces an exam, my course will begin. ...
I want to repeat - we can not rely on this post on the DCAS website as accurate. We must await the Department to make an exam announcement."

It always amazes me how others call stuff fake without doing any actual research. Yes its real and on the DCAS website. takes about 15 seconds to search.... I am pretty sure I called this before when I said the city is broke and expect them to recoup some money by giving promotional exams throughout different city agencies. Good luck to all, do the Run/JST, write up medals, etc. a 70 is not good enough anymore.
Fifty is correct. Dcas literally changed the page. I swear to you the sgt exam was on there via the link. Dcas changed it after it was posted so it seems no sgt exam filing date being set

If you thought for one second that they were going to announce an exam in 3 months in the middle of an international pandemic and the biggest financial crisis in NYC in 30+ years, all while still having 1500+ people on an active list, then I have some volcano insurance to sell you. PM me.

Let me guess..DCAS f'ed up and posted a inaccurate exam schedule. Not surprised one bit. For you rookies out there...DCAS is one of the worst city agencies out there...running neck and neck with the board of elections. DCAS with their experimental exam questions and disparity impact experts have literally destroyed the careers of countless uniformed members of the service. If you all have learned one thing....DCAS is a mess, study hard, and be ready for anything that mess of an agency throws at you! Every promotional school instructor will tell you the same.

Regardless if they are giving one the list will be cut call me a troll. I said in the Lts forum that list will hit 750 and I will be right, the sgt list maybe 1700 tops 1800 with a miracle. The list I believe expires in January of 2022 and people have already talking about suing if it gets extended. A higher upper agreed and said they wont extend they will just give another one to avoid a law suit and they can generate more money.

that list was probably made before COVID, remember it wasnt just the Sgts exam that was taken off. There were 3 pages worth of exams that was corrected to only show half a page. They are a complete mess but was probably an honest mistake.

DCAS just played a game of "just the tip" with a lot of cops. They gave cops a temporary feeling of euphoria, only to withdraw those good feelings and stab them in the balls.

To all of our Key students.
We are aware of the posting from DCAS announcing a January, 2021 filing period for a Sergeants test.
A Finest message (see attached) was issued shortly afterwards stating that this information is erroneous.
We at The Key believe that due to the Covid pandemic, social distancing issues and the fact that all other lists have been extended for one year, that it is highly unlikely there will be any tests in 2021.
We are following this very closely and will update you immediately when we have any pertinent test information.
Continue to stay safe out there in these difficult times.

I hope and believe this SGT list will be extended. The precedent has been set already. Other exams lists have been extended.
DIRECT FROM DCAS SITE:
"All eligible lists which were originally scheduled to terminate between March 16, 2020 and December 31, 2020 will be extended by one year. In addition, all eligible lists for exams for Police Officer, Police Communications Technician, Traffic Enforcement Agent and School Safety Agent which are scheduled to terminate between January 1, 2021 and December 31, 2021 will be extended by one year."
Def a possibility. Gives more time to write an exam, more time for finances to get alil better etc. Are the police officer exams they talk about 4 years old? And is there still an emergency in Jan of 2022 which would allow extension? Thats the pressing question at least to me

Also gives them time to figure out where and how to give the actual exam. I bet that teachers union (that the mayor constantly bends over for) is not going to want their schools packed with cops, due to police being exposed to COVID.
Take It for what its worth. If its true start to get familiar with the PG.
