Reports all over social media and within ranks indicate this week had a mass exodus of over 600-700 UMOS filing or ready to file their papers for retirement. Now along with a 4yr 1billion dollar budget cut, will that mean headcount cut? I know we dont solidly know.. but I believe no headcount cut, but goodbye OT.
Lets talk..

No one knows anything.
Hiring freeze can happen, city and department doesnt care about a headcount, they dont care about a list being cut, none of it matters.
All we can do is hope everything works out for our own situation.

Is the July academy class officially cut? That will be the biggest indicator of near future promotions.
The job will probably want to get rid of **** like school safety, homeless outreach, etc. and the city will put that money into similar agencies that arent nypd.

All rumors for now, nothing has been confirmed yet. However, If they do go you have to give them credit, they didn't bow down to this loser Deblasio like he wanted them to.
Movement is imminent though, we'll just have to wait and see.

Some units being dismantled including the YCO thing.

Maybe the defunding is a good thing, if it means more cops on patrol and less bull**** to respond to (vendors, school, youth)
So much **** we have to cover and honestly we shouldn't be involved in

Less cops means more overtime so there is a silver lining to this.

youre right. They didnt bow to deblasio. But they took a knee. Give them credit? Are you crazy? These ****ing losers sold their soul to the devil, bent over for him and are still being replaced.

Agreed. We are talking about mounted? A viral infection from China, and a guy dying in Minnesota, is about to alter the careers of hundreds of umos. And here we are talking about mounted?
