Ed and I are trying to secure more concrete info however, as of now it appears that the Department is planning on promoting between 50-75 to lieutenant in early/mid June. We expect the list to be released within the next 2 weeks to give them time to conduct round robin background checks for those of you at the top of the list who are otherwise eligible and will go first. PLEASE understand that this info is ALWAYS subject to change at the whim of DCAS and/or 1PP. If and when we hear something different or somehow more definitive, we will post it here. Good luck to all and try to stay patient.....

What causes the holdup with lists being released? Dcas verified military points over a month ago... What's left for them to do after that? Is it lazy civil service employees dragging their feet?

From all indications I have personally received, your exam WILL be scaled....what formula and "method" utilized remains to be seen. I suspect that is the hold up with the list being released. Hang in there....

2006 list was 1285. If you want to guestimate your list number then look at that list.

Not sure this is a good gauge. This list could be a little more top heavy than the 2006 list

Cant believe I'm agreeing with that nutjob leslie...but she's right. With this whole scaling thing our list will most likely mirror the sgt list. Since ours is approx 1300, which is half the size of the sgt list 2600, just divide the scores by half. Either way it looks like more than 200 will have cracked the 90s.

Thanks Tony! As always you and eze are on top of your game! And thats why im sticking with rising star for the next Capt exam.
So dcas is scaling after jst, medal, and seniority points have been added or maybe scaling the original scores.....one can only wonder what dcas is up to!

Does anyone remember what number they reached on the 2006 LT list before it was cut. I have to think with the number of vacancies and an upcoming active Captain list that this list would promote more Lieutenants. Therefore I dont see the 2 lists mirroring each other as much as people think.

LT vacancies yes but there arent many Capt vacancies. I just don't see the job promoting everyone off the sgt, lt, or Capt list. They are just too big.
Laugh if you want, but I was crunching the numbers in my parent's basement last night and discovered that the attrition rate from 2010 to 2017 is half that of 2003 to 2010. So that means in the last 7 years fewer sgt, lt, and capt have been retiring. It's more noticeble when you seperate and analyze the Lt & Capt ranks.

I hear the list was promised to us by the end of next week however could be earlier. The job wants to put two classes in for June (not sure if early or late in the month) HOWEVER the 2nd class is TENTATIVE so Im putting my money on just the 1 class. Very reliable info and no its not from rising star its another source that seconds what the person who runs this forum has said with more info. I dont know the size of the classes except they are pretty large for a Lts class, whatever that means. Good luck! AND PLEASE SOMEONE DELETE THEFORCEISSTRONGWITHTHISONEs USELESS ACCOUNT.
