Anyone notice that any top pay Lt will be making $125,530 base starting on 5/1/18 but a new captain will be making $124,477 on that same date? Pay scale doesn't correct itself until the next Capt contract kicks in on 10/1/18.
Wonder if the Dept will not promote any capts between May and Oct to avoid this.
Does anyone know what the job did with Sgts in this same scenario?

Same thing occurred last year. Those promoted went to the 2nd step essentially reaching top pay in 2 years. What sucked is that they made more or the same then Captains promoted before them.

Wow, 2 yrs top pay would be sweet but I could see where people promoted earlier would feel cheated.

Unions leaders are saying that you will go to the next step and remain there an extra year. So 2 years at step 2 then go to step 3 etc...
