Thats crazy, now what does this mean for Lts list? Better chance of the list not being cut or doesnt matter?

It means nothing for us. It just means people will likely die on the sgt list. 2700 in four years sounds crazy.
However if our test has similar throwouts then our list will be ginormous too.

Doesnt affect us at all. Captain list will be more important to is. We just know it will be awhile without any promotional exams for any of the ranks.

Missing the bx..you are missing the mark on that one as well. It definitely does affect us. Prior to the throwouts and double answers the sgt list was half what it is now. From what Im hearing it almost doubled in size. Now if our lt list is 1050 like most are saying then after throwouts/double answers we could also be looking at a 2000 person list. I know it sounds crazy to me as well. But its plausible.

Apparently there were eight throw outs and two double answers. It doesnt mean anything at all directly for our list, just goes to show you that DCAS set out to make very passable tests.

Didnt 2400 sit for the Lt exam? I could see the list being 2600 names.

there is nothing to protest in 2017 Lt exam. Thus, no effect on us.

Our exam had maybe 2 questions you could legitimately protest...otherwise it was pretty cut and dry.

I heard 3400 passed the NYPD entrance exam. You think this will effect us ? You think maybe that will make our list come out faster?

Its funny cause they said the same about the Sgt exam and they had like 7 throwouts ... my boy got a 63 and made the list ... he got them all ...

From what I remember the wording on a couple of questions was off. But even with a couple of throwouts that could add another 200 to 300. So maybe not a 2000 person list. But a 1,500 person list a strong possibility. Lol we would be lucky if the job gets to 1,000...25 is the new 20..guys just arent leaving like that. The LT vacancies havent changed much in 4 months buddy. In the words of DRpapi...good luck to all..the end is near. Lol

I think someone said it before in a prior post, many people were more concerned with knowing how many they got wrong then preparing for a protest question. The less amount of questions protested, the lesser of a chance of any double answer and or throw outs....... I think in our case were good.....

Too big of the list I really think they curved it period. Make sense because the 2600 person list can run four years and I think the city is tired of giving one every couple years. I think theyd rather you die on the list then sue the city.. cheaper in all aspects

If thats the case than thats a joke. Youre going to have these Idiots who barely study and pass and they might get promoted Even though they dont deserve it.

City could care less when tests are and how many there are.
The cities budget for exams is probably .000000001 of the cities budget.

I don't believe the Sergeant's list will be indicative of the Lt. list at all. I haven't kept up with the Lt. thread but thousands of PO's protested every single question on that Sergeant's exam. DCAS had to review protests for each question. Probably hundreds of protests for the same ten or 20 questions. At least one cop provided enough proof/material to either make them a double answer or throwout. I don't believe the Lt. was protested at all. Not one Sgt. in my command brought up a specific question except the classification of some Uber robbery.
So chances are the Lt. list will not balloon like the Sgt list did due to protests.
Looks about 2,400 people.
