I called the union, they said it is on the table for the next contract talks. If we get it by March it would be a actually be a 5.25% raise. that would be great!

From what I understand, we would get it if we agreed to body cameras. The PBA set the pattern for what wearing body cameras are worth. What Im curious over is do we have to wait til we are out of contract or is it something we could work out beforehand, agree to the cameras, then from day 1 of wearing the cameras, start getting the 2.25% We're going to get it eventually, the other unions are already agreeing to the body cams in exchange for it, i.e. the DEA.

Really guys. How much is an extra two % om 100k. Anotherr 2250 a yr which will equal to an extra $35 a check after taxes. Are guys really that hard up on cash? Just saying. Maybe stayin a PO/Det is a better option. Dues are less and you can make more OT. I say no to the cameras. F them For $35 a month.

There's Nothing wrong with cameras specially if they can help us. Add to that the $$$ I think its a win/win. Hopefully it does end up happening

Are you retarded ? Who wouldn't want more money? Plus that all means getting paid more when next bargaining comes around bc we were already 2% higher than before.

How did you arrive at $35 a month? 2250/12=187.50 pretax a month
2250/26=86.53 a check pretax. figuring for 30% taxes 60.50 a check.

No one takes a promotion to lose money. If you don't need the money, setup an alotment to my account and I'll put it to good use.

Monkey that's funny. But you know we can't get rich on this job and I'm far from that. Lol Whatever the percentage is, it's not enough to stress over. I am also trying to make the points that you can't miss something that you never had and its wrong to hate on our younger brothers because they got. Ok they got, move on then. Put your energy towards helping that cop in your squad thats' dealing with a sick child at home and needs an eday once or twice. Or that cop that's suffering from 9/11 that's needs to take off now and then to handle the many doctors appointments for doing his job..... Im sure most of you guys aced this exam and will make it up later. A lot was of you guys on this board have a long time to go before retirement. You make it back one way or another if thats your motivation. ....... whether it's landing in a tit detail and finally making 45-50 a month with weekends off, or continue having those extended meals that we like to take so often. It is what it is.

I don't think it's hating on others that get promoted. I'm happy for them and don't want to see them lose out on anything. It's the principle that a supervisor should be making more money than subordinates and equals with less time in the same rank, not just this job but life in general. Also, the PBA contract was signed retroactively. Most of the sergeants getting shafted were POs for the majority of that contract. why arent all parts of the contract retroactive other than the back pay? Lastly, it may only be 50-60 bucks a pay check, but that's 50-60 bucks less that de Blasio can hand to some street mutt.

I'd give up the placard. We are not allowed to use it anyway, except at the Pct. I don't even display it at the Pct fearing some perps would do malicious things to my car.
