I'm in the 60-70 range of names away and I also paid for the classes and studying...a good guess id say is that there will be atleast 2 more classes before August. Classes have been ranging from 55-70, with many skipped months as well. I also feel nervous mainly because you never know with this Job. They could put in classes of 30 or none at all for the next few months. I'd say keep studying if you're semi close!!

Keep studying
Worst case scenario you waste some time brushing up your knowledge before you get promoted
Best case scenario you get made in time and pass the LT test
You have a lot more to gain then lose definitely keep studying

How far are you ? If you're below 800, you have a good shot.

Im about 60 away. Its just a horrible feeling. Was just wondering what other people were feeling. We all know how enjoyable the patol guide is to read and study. Just would hate to be dedicating all the time and not make the test. Best of luck to all in this lovely situation and thanks for the responses

At 60 out, you should definitely make the test, as there is likely two classes left before the test. YOU MUST study and give yourself a chance. I'd rather have wasted a few months (and dollars) than waste an opportunity to get promoted and regret it forever.

Of course anything is possible with this department and we usually expect the worst. BUT, stay positive and keep studying. I would bet my retro check that you're in BMOC before the LTs test.

They have been around the 70 mark the last few classes.. so it's safe to say your are in good shape. I'm in the same boat 30-35 names away... I just want to know how I'm going to adjust my studying doing probably midnights in some busy command...

Better off in a busy command. You'll probably have 3 or 4 Sgts a night in with you vs. doing the desk or patrol in a slower command.
