Should I take the sgts exam Feb 22 even though I'm studying for lieutenant?

Long story short, I had my issues and thought I was going to die on the list and have to take the sgts test again. So I signed up for this upcoming sgts test. But, I got everything cleared up so I'm going to sit for the lieutenants instead. Was wondering what value there would be if I sat for the sgts exam anyway...

If they allow you to why not. However if you are in the rank of Sgt right now not sure if they would allow you to sit for the exam. I believe dcas started cracking down on it after the 2011 Lt exam. You need to be in the rank below than the one you are sitting for. Good luck.

As a sergeant, I registered and paid for the sergeant exam before the 2011 Lieutenant exam. I got a notice two weeks before the sergeant exam stating I was not eligible because I was already a sergeant. I was not refunded the money.
Don't do it. You'll lose out on your money. DCAS does not refund.
