It's imperative that we all attend, this is our last line of defense if we have any chance of them reconsidering throw-outs. As i stated before i was going to leak the story to the paper and it made it. Now its up to other people to either email the author of the article. Obviously my goal is not to get this exam thrown out since some of you guys that passed deserve to be promoted from this disater of a test. My goal and hope is with the media attention, they will back down on some possible throw-outs.

The list is done. Media attention is not going to make them suddenly change their minds. They couldn't change the list at this point even if they wanted. The only way you are getting changes to this list is by winning an Article 78 challenge or by challenging other testing parameters. That means hiring lawyers and spending some money.
If anything, media attention hurts us because you can rest assured DCAS is going to go the extra mile to dot their 'I's and cross their 'T's.

You should change your screen name to No Common Sense.
ENOUGH WITH THE NONSENSE.
The list is IN THE OPEN and the findings by the TVB ARE FINAL.
What anyone can hope to do is change the exam taking process GOING FORWARD. After that? Use the rest of your energy/efforts towards studying for the 2017 Lt Exam.

Apparently someone (NYPD/DCAS) is afraid and knows everyone is serious about taking action in regards to the throw outs and the cheaters. Therefore, it seems to me, that this someone is pretending to "solve" the problem by possibly throwing out a couple of questions after the list was already established, hoping that we will forget about the cheaters, which is a more serious case.
If NYPD/DCAS is afraid, it's because we might have a good case against them because come on... How can they explain zero throwouts? Okay, a few throwouts after a later review can serve a bit of justice and address that, but what about the cheaters? How can they explain the make up pass rate?
Lastly, I'd like to say that all members of this department should try to do something about this mess.
First time passers aka Elite 128... It's not fair to you because many of these make-ups got a list number ahead of you.
Sergeants who want to take the next exam... The list is bigger with the cheaters added on it as a result making you all wait a longer period to take the next exam.
Everyone else.. Integrity. Are you okay with having a supervisor who is a cheater who didnt earn the rank?
Bottom line is that it is not fair to anyone to let these cheaters get away with cheating.
Just my two cents..

su madre you do know things can get overthrown, my intentions are not to get the list thrown out but the findings in the TVB. so let s focus on that instead of taking it in the ass and attacking fellow cops on a public Forum. I would love for this media attention to cause negative backlash if we keep it up and not let it die down. it should Help in making it harder for the scammers to pass future tests. So my previous post is to get the fellow Sgts that have already given up or on the verge of calling it quits to still fight on and not to bend over and touch their toes.

I agree, Su Madre. Life is not fair. But if we don't fight, nothing changes and others continue to step over us. So yah, knowing that life is not fair is fine but accepting it and not doing anything about it is a shame.

I know it's tough to believe but there were at least couple of double answers ..... We will find out definitively on March 31 at the review session but I do know couple of people that picked up points . One had a 69 originally and is on the list and the other friend had 74 originally but ended up with a 76.

Interesting - Did they ever get their official answer key at DCAS? I did and, unfortunately, the answer key I filled out was correct (68). I personally know of one instance where the person who already passed, got their answer sheet and actually gained two points. They transposed the answers onto the sheet they filled out incorrectly. I only ask because my sources were adamant about no changes. They could be wrong, though.

The official email from DCAS telling NYPD to walk across the street and pick up the list stated, "...with 204 names and zero changes to the original answer key..." I read it with my own eyes. The increase in scores people are experiencing are most likely errors on test day with filling out the take home answer sheet.

From what my notice says it seems like you sit at a computer and just read what their reasoning was. I'm sure it's all in convoluted DCAS-speak that none of us will be able to follow.
Has anyone went to prior TVB Report Readings? I've never been to one so I don't know, there probably aren't a lot of people who have.

Be prepared to see the token TVB answer with no solid explanation; "the protests submitted failed to support why the alternate answer was better than or equivalent to the proposed answer key." And that's all we'll get. Fight the good fight
