Thought I pose a question to lighten the stress around here a bit
I purchased rising star and The Key's classes. For its instructors The Key has: Jim Shea, Dermot Shea, George Misfud and Ralph Cilento.
In your opinions, just wanted to know how you would rate these instructors and their teaching styles?

Misfud is by far the best of the key instructors, imo. Ralph is hilarious and would take 2nd place in my book.

Jim Shea is the best but I don't think he teaches too often anymore.
Dermot has gotten a lot better than when I first took the key in 2008.

FYI, if you do the home study course, it's Misfud for pretty much every video except cims (which Ralph does).

Yep. I wasted the last few good days of studying on that birdies info. Smh

I wouldn't pay for any course again. Patrol guide and $50 on the ksa guide is all I'd use.

Misfud is the best, actually keeps you awake. He's knowledgeable and his crazy stories make you remember things.
Jim Shea is very knowledgeable and keeps it interesting enough, but as was already said, he may be busy with his new job and not keeping up with the PG the way he was in the past. He was one of the best chiefs I've met on this job, and he's still a great instructor.
Cilento is good and animated enough. If you know nothing about CIMS the way he visually explains it will give you a thorough overview of the basic command element, but if you've already studied it a good amount it doesn't get into the nitty-gritty. For a sergeant test it might be enough to get you by on CIMS though.
Dermont Shea I didn't have for any classes for the lieutenant exam, I couldn't give you an honest assessment as I barely remember studying for sergeant in 2011.

Cilento is good in my opinion. He isn't as brash as Mifsud, but Cilento still makes it interesting.

Mifsud and Jim Shea. They remind me of those college professors that you never forget. Real professionals. Dermot and Cilento are very good as well but sometimes Dermot comes straight from work and is too tired to do it right.

There was an instructor who went on a tangent about 'having to kill a hostage' and then he spit saying 'f-ck em'. That was funniest thing i ever saw. Forgot what his name is

That was Ralph. He's a laugh a minute
