Over 6 months for results is really embarrassing. Do people outside of the Job give you a funny face when they ask you how you did on your exam from 6 months ago and your response is.....still waiting for the results?

My wife took several financial certification exams. You sit down at a computer, take the test and, when you're done, you click a button to submit your answers. It instantaneously tells you if you passed/failed, score, etc. This was 20+ years ago! Granted, on a civil service test, you'd have to wait for everyone to take the exam before you knew your list number. Other than that, there is nothing preventing us knowing the rest . . . even 20 years ago!
Also, despite the fact the material tested was infinitely more complex than the anything in the Patrol Guide or an In Basket, there were no throw outs or double/triple answers. I assume there was a process to lodge protests, however, I never heard about it. Incredibly, the test is well written, vetted and administered by professionals. Protesting simply never even occurred to my wife.
In the real world, creating and administering a test isn't a major feat. On this job you would think writing a 100-question, multiple choice exam is tougher than a managing a successful moon mission. By the way, I felt this way long before these cluster**** exams started! I can't believe the process has gotten worse since I took the Sgt's exam. It's a disgrace!
