So here I am, stirring the pot on a Saturday night.......
Promotions are on Monday, 9/28.......consisting of:
7 captains (this should conclude the current list)
and 27 lieutenants
There will be approximately 30 from the old sergeants list entering BMOC on 10/5. This number is flexible depending on passovers and who must get cleared.......but the goal is to finish the list
sleep well people........you all should be happy

It sounded pretty clear to me. They're only putting enough to end the 2011. November will start ours.

She said the number is flexible. The class always consist of 50-75, there will be people from the new list next BMOC, how many? Who knows....but if you're top 20 I would be getting ready.

Always 50-75? Really? Then explain the july 2012 class of 34. Based on vacancies i would expect ONLY the 2011 list to be in this BMOC.

My point is you cant trend this type of promoting. Classes go in of varying sizes and months that no classes go in at all. The best you can do is lok at the vacancies and try to make an educated guess. And based on the current vacancies plus LT's gettinng made this next class should be small. I'm saying no more then 45 people all from the 2011 test.

I understand what you are saying @ the same time you picked out one instance in 2012 there was a small BMOC. It's not uncommon for the dept to make promotions in anticipation of vacancies... For example they just made 100 sergeants. My point is that it wouldn't be fair for me to say that there would be a 100 sergeant BMOC next month based on the one instance.

Anyone know how many Sgts were put in the first class of the 2009 list?
I know 2011 had 75 their first class. Just wondering if usually, BMOC tries to put in a big class when beginning a brand new list, or if it doesn't matter.

Hey Brat I know Nov and Dec are usually down months and it's early but are they thinking about at least putting in one class from the 2013 list before Jan? Or are we screwed until the new year 😞

If they don't promote for the rest of the year then this will have been the lowest amount of SGT promotions in recent history. After the 30 going in for October, about 310 will have been made. Usually we see anywhere from 400 to 500 a year. Last year for example, 415 SGTs were made. The year before, 405. I'm betting on a class each month until years end. Either that or they take ONE down month and then follow it up with a huge group in Dec.

This is true. I can't see only 310 being promoted.....The department is actually increasing in size due to the October class of recruits being put in followed right up by a large January class of 1000 recruits . I'm thinking that they will just want to finish up the remaining on the 2011 list maybe put a few of the passovers in then put a couple of big groups in for November and December. I feel that they will promoted around 90 off the new list within the first 2 months!!
