That's why I registered to listen to it. Really curious to see what he is trying to sell now. You know he has to bring up this LT. Test and talk about what he will be doing different this time around because the classes are useless otherwise. It's going to be like sitting in a timeshare speech lol

I don't think I could've created a Lt's test that did a better job of demotivating every sergeant if I tried...
In college and high school, if I sat through class, did my homework, and studied like I was supposed to, I was guaranteed to pass... This test was a total crapshoot.
I'm 11 years in and just had a baby. Unless there is a very compelling reason for me to RISK another 6-8 months of my life studying to try to move up, I'm just going to spend time with my family instead.

I agree w u geek. I think what this exam taught a lot of people is that this job ain't worth it in the long run.i am with ya, even tho I'm closer to the finish line then ya. I will never waste my time again studying for an exam. If I make this one---so be it. But I believe this exam showed a lot of guys just how this job will screw ya from time to time. Do ur 20 and run for the doors. The morale is the worst I ve seen it on this job and will only get worse. The way u once knew the job is done. It will be electronic sign ins,gps tracks, more paperwork, and more political correctness coming down the pike. I'm less then 5 from the finish line thank god. I d like a white shirt tho before I go out for the Margaritas I ll be buying in Florida for the bar so let's go tvb leapfrog me over some of these guys for that bag of cash. No whammies no whammies!!!!!!

Geek - I agree with you 100-percent. This test will leave a permanent scar on a lot of MOS. They will never be the same. I didn't take 2011 but that one did too. It's mind boggling. I can't imagine getting slapped in the face in 2011 and coming back in 2015 reasonably thinking you'll get a fair shot only to get ambushed again. It's mind boggling that an organization would do this repeatedly to their supervisors!
Absent variables like test-taking skills, retention rates and the like, the results should reflect the effort. This debacle was so nuanced and hair splitting that it absolutely added an element of arbitrariness. Nonetheless, I suspect the results of this test reflect people's effort for the most part. It's just skewed so low because of the difficulty. There are always exceptions but, if you take away the 70 line and looked at the top 500 raw scores, people's presence on that list (and their rank on it) would largely be representative of the effort put forth. I'm not saying that to defend the test. It was a disaster. Still, it's the 70 rule that turns what is simply an extremely difficult test into a career altering disaster. As it stands, you could've scored in the top ten-percentile and, if you don't hit the throw out lottery, you fail. That's obscene!
I need a few points. whether I get them or not is almost besides the point for me. The damage is done. That test was a kick in the crotch. I guess I've been blessed. Being in a good gig for a few years you can forget how screwed up the job is. This was the perfect wake up call. 'Oh yeah, that's right, I forgot. This job sucks!'
Will I study for another Lt's Exam? No way!

I agree with you guys. This job is dead, no matter who passes this. There will be people to take the next lieutenant test, but will it be enough? Considering what happened this time I don't think anyone who failed this one is going at it again. As far as the new sergeants on the 2013 list that got ****ed with 130 questions and no extra time, well, it's safe to say they aren't going to trust the impartiality of the job either, this job wants EDP bosses and that's what they'll get.

I think after the review panel is over the list is going to come out right away and I can't see the dcas guys on review panel telling the TVB lt's what they are going to throw out. I feel like I have been waiting a lifetime for these results.
Anyone sign up for this??
