Here now---talked with my buddy. So OMAP has the 128 number hard---off the scantron results. It is not rumor. The upper brass and yes---the RE-ENGINEERING team is pushing for another exam late next year 2016. this is the new way the job wants the exam process to go. more exams with smaller lists, to get the creme de la creme. They expect a list of around 225-275 with a couple of throwouts and the add ons(military/sabbath) who havent taken exam. and--they are fine with that. this is exactly what they have said to my buddy. Once again--not a rumor. My buddy thinks that this protest session is basically the most important session that has ever been. these questions are stacked---yes the Lt from 13th and Capt Insano worked tooth and nail to make these un-protestable. but every point is going to count on this exam--every one. there are no promo schools guys there--a first for Lts and a mark against us. i think im too far out of this to be in running---but it makes me sick to think these two evil maniacs are going to win. get to the sessions if you are close----it could be the difference. lets see what happens this week.

I know ppl on the re engineering team. I've talked to them extensively about what they pushed for. The number one thing...which they all agreed on..was eliminate the sabat exam. No joke...we see how that went. I don't know if I buy this creme of the crop. If I pass this test..doesn't make me creme of crop. Makes me a loser for knowing those dumb ass procedures that were tested. Barely had anything to do w being a supervisor. These tests should focus on edps...active shooter etc etc. NOT the bs we all saw. These guys aren't smart. I'll personally call all them out and I'll quote the pg wo looking at it. So funny these guys pat themselves on the back creating a test that has nothing to do w the rank. The thing that I learned..cuter you try to get w pg....more chance you'll conflict w it. Just have to dig for it. As for 128...it'll hold true based on scores you see from key. If you see most guys w high 60s and low 70s yeah that means we're in trouble

of course it doesnt make u creme de la creme. it means you studied more on 1 and 2 star procedures. thats all. this is what the out of touch brass thinks and the PC. i m not passing---i just dont know what the job is trying to accomplish. morale is in the toilet already

and trust me---the re engineering team has A LOT to do with what becomes of this list. actually---pretty much everything. check your facts. the job tells dcas how many slots they need for the rank and whether or not a new exam should be given---which used to be all OMAP. the re engineering nerds and do nothings with det shields most with fancy dancy degrees from ivy league schools who suck a** now have a ton of power. a TON.

the job wont have any Lt s if the exams are like this. i know a lot of intelligent guys right now who are tip toeing on that pass/fail line and that is ridiculous. these guys are legit studiers who put in the time and know their stuff. you got some loser Lt who talks smack to everyone in the 13th about how knowledgeable he is of the PG and he barely passed on the 2011 exam. And then Capt Insano---well he is obviously the smartest man on the job. these two evidently were the only ones who saw eye to eye in this group and agreed on everything. its sick. the stuff i heard today was insane---from insano and castro literally writing in trick questions, to insano yelling at guys at the top of his lungs at 105 guys after funeral, to castro being a field associate in the 33. it is insane.

The city probably turns a profit, $100 times 2800 guys, do the math. Those proctors are probably making $12 an hour and the schools are government buildings. Even after factoring in paying the salaries of the useless test taking team of losers that wrote this exam (which would be getting paid anyway) the city probably still at least breaks even from our filing fees.

I spoke with over 35 people who took the exam. I know two 81's and a 72. That's it for passing grades. And many of the people I know in the 60's were top 50 names on their respective Sgt exams and hit the books hard for this one. The biggest kick in the d*ck is one of the 81's I know openly told me he just went to crams and happened to read an Operations Order packet a week prior. Literally stated he studied the basics for 4-5 weeks and some Ops Orders, IO, and Legal Packets. I'm at the point if my 68 doesn't hold up and I actually take the next one, just doing the same. There is no reason to go hard for 6-7 months at all. These exams don't actually test the practical portions of the PG anyways.
I hope someone attending the protest tomorrow has a really good memory to list at least the 20 "research" (aka manipulated) questions for us. That will create a lot clearer picture. Hey maybe someone will be smart enough to remember the entire answer key by sheer luck and post for us. You never know.

I'm calling shenanigans on this. First, I highly doubt that anyone in 1PP has knowledge of the numbers that passed yet (at least not anyone that is going to share that information). Second, 128 passers would put the passing rate at the lowest of any promotional exam ever in the NYPD. Based on the scores discussed here, I doubt that is accurate.
Finally, everyone keeps talking about the "re-engineering team". There are no more teams outside of the small group of people organizing the recommendations and the implementing bureau personnel that are responsible for each piece. Also, I was a member of the re-engineering team on promotional exams, as was the brat, and both of us can tell you that pretty much everything discussed in this thread is inaccurate. With the Sabbath exam that everyone hates, it was not one of our recommendations to remove it as it isn't possible to do so. You will always need an alternate test date for legal and EEO reasons. However, the impact is not immense. Yes, higher percentage of people that take the exam on the alternate date do pass. However, the number of people that take that exam is not very large. For example, in another thread, someone stated that 53 people took the makeup exam for the 2011 Lieutenants exam, and 44 passed. The actual number was 32 and only 17 passed (passing rate of 53%). That is higher than the 29% of people that passed the exam on the initial date, but not as astronomical as initially insinuated. At the end of the day, 17 people, out of a total 2295 who sat for the 2011 Lieutenants exam, may have benefited in some way due to the alternate test date. That isn't something to cry over.
