2630 all fighting for about 800 spots unlike SGT and Captain exams 70 in my opinion won't be good enough unless they give a test like last one

70 is never good enough for a lieutenant test

70 was more than enough on the last one

Shame on those that aim for a 70 on the lt test! Just saying. Yes it was good enough for the last test but 1 test doesn't dictate history.

I agree. But if you look at history 10% pass a test. So your looking at a list of around 300 - 400. This last one was larger Bc of all the nonsense. Originally 120 passed.

Originally 241 passed on 2011 LT's exam ..... Also the percentage of passers is little higher for the Lt's exams than the Sgt's, it's in the range of 25 to 30%

With that bull**** contract that the unions will push thru, lots of old dogs will be retiring in the coming years. Anyone who passes this test should be just fine.

How did only 241 pass the last test when the list has over 600 people? We're there a lot of throw outs ?

Just about everybody shows up , unlike the captain test or even the Sgt test everyone shows up and takes this exam very serious ...2006 the list I believe got cut I think around 800 . April 18th it will be 2700 people fighting for about 800 slots

If you put in the time and the effort, and are somewhat of an intelligent person; you have nothing to worry about.
Just keep studying and do not worry about what anyone else doing. On april 18th, you will be in competition with yourself, and no one else. What difference does it make if only 100 people show up to take the test if you cannot get a 70 or better? In the end all that matters is how prepared were you on test day.

The 2006 test was a list of 1395. they cut it off at 755. A little over the half way mark. They froze promotions during that list because of the economic crisis. Most all other LT lists at least 1000 were promoted. The 2011 test was such a joke that originally 270 passed that test. They had a total of 17 throwouts/double answers which could still only establish a list of 660 (The smallest Lt List in recent memory by far). Some people made that list who had an original score of 59. So the bottom line is they could do anything they want. You can't worry about things like that. As the above poster stated. Keep studying and worry about what you do. You can't control anything else.
Anyone know how many filed for this April's exam? And will this be more or less then the 2011 exam?
Yeah, I dug up this old thread. Numbers are pretty close.
