What course options do we have this time around? Is the key still doing live classes? Is Misfud teaching? I know he said he would not since he was promoted. Is Yanosiks course live or online only this time, is the live class any good, any info will be appreciated! Any courses with live classes in Suffolk county?

But all of that did not work for you the last time. All that material with different teaching styles could confuse you.
Try focusing on your favorite course with the Police Academy material and stick to it. You will definately make the list.
Good luck !!

I thought the same thing. I don't know how that makes any sense to charge more when I am printing everything out on my own.

My test taking days are over, but if I had to do it all over again it would be rising star all the way. rising star made the right call with the admin guide, judgement scenarios, etc. these test writers are always trying to pull a fast one and I wouldn't want to chance it for a lieutenants exam. you have to study hard for this one. This was, hands down, the most competitive test in the dept

Mike said if we needed it he would give it to us but he feels that reading it would be a waste of time. 2011 Lt's exam - 0 questions 2006 lt's exam - 2 questions 2003 lt's exam - 0 questions He doesnt think we should waste time reading another 400 procedures for that He is going to cover what we would need to know about the AG in class.

Thanks for the shout-out, Jill. The course has been tweaked a bit since you took your exam. for ex. we now have a full in-basket lesson.
Bluecollar: The course consists of 20 packets, mailed to your home (one packet each week).
The bulk of the packet will be Patrol Guide questions and the accompanying notes. We intend for you to do these along with reading the actual patrol guide. Our notes is basically the PG without the "fluff". To enhance retention we use several tricks. For example, we might leave out a key step in our notes; the question for that procedure will then require that you know that step in order to get it right--this re-enforces the Patrol Guide learning...
Aside from the PG question and notes there are supplementary lessons broken up among the 20 lessons such as relevant AG Guide procedures, Crime Classification Guide, in-basket, test taking tips, study tips, misc. orders, math/grammar, etc.

KSA got me promoted in the top 15% with no Patrol guide just studied from "the procedural guide for police supervisors" on that disaster of a Sgt test given in December 2003. It also got me promoted off the 2006 LT exam but I also used the patrol guide as well. Was in the top 30%. Haven't heard Much from retired INSP Storch but back when I needed it the book was excellent. Good luck everyone

I did the key for all three of the last three exams and it worked for me. In my opinion, Chief Shea was the best and Capt. Monaghan is decent. Elite(formerly Fast Track) jumps around to much. I also used risingstar "just the questions" when they sell them towards the end. No school though can replace hard work and dedication on your own. Good luck to you guys.

The problem with that is you're only getting Patrol Guide questions. For another $200 I took their PG, AG, Legal Bureau, Crime Classification, leadership/judgment, math/grammar and in-basket outlines which all came with questions. Well worth the extra money than just getting the PG questions.

I used the Key and went to Aspen at first. I got the college credits they offer but you have to take a "proctored" exam and is kind of a pain in the ass. They only count towards electives so if you already have college, its unlikely they will help you out. I was military and had zero college when I got on the job. I finished my BA with Thomas Edison college.
