Whoever only answered the first 100 most likely failed the test. I mean its possible they passed if 20-25 of the "research" questions were after # 100, But the way is was worded was that they would be mixed in randomly. If that's the case, then there were probably about 22-25 questions that counted between 100-130.

Ok. Well if you go to the protest you might know what the 30 research questions were. I suggest every one goes. When it comes to throwing the last 30 out that would be unfair too. People do the test out of order. Not every one does 1-100 or in this case 1-130. You guys have a legitimate case and I truly hope the best for you all. What ever the resolution may be.

If it was honestly pre-determined, we should have been handed a flyer when we walked out telling us which questions were research.

They threw out an FDNY test for nonsense, they should throw out the last 30 questions because we didnt have enough time and the proctors didn't inform us that we MUST answer all the questions. We were given the booklet and had to start the test like a minute later. The DCAS "research" is like the Japanese using "research" as an excuse to kill whales for consumption.

The proctor in my room also informed us that we were going to be given a reference packet that we would have to return 10 minutes later without picking up a pencil? Also told us no eating or drinking in the room.
What a joke. I happily pulled out my sandwich after #75 and chewed slowly while staring her in her beady, evil, proctor eyes. hahah

What's "this early " ?? Tomorrow is Monday and according to my source the commissioner has been getting calls all weekend. DCAS is prepared to answer questions and clarify the test come Monday morning. If you don't believe, go to the office yourself to get the truth.

Semp1 is right. I suggest that, like mike Yanosik from the elite said, everyone should attend that protest session and see what you got. but also let them know how you felt about this test (the time frame given for an extra 30 questions) and focus on the duplicate question and any other test based questions that you guys can think of where you were on the fence with the answer. I have a few in my mind that should be thrown out as being too borderline with the answer choice they gave. If anyone can think of questions for us to formulate, PM me so we can go to Dcas with a list of unfair questions and hopefully get them thrown out. These promotional class teachers, from fast track to elite to rising star and the key, would have protested the questions they thought were too tricky or too misleading but since they were unable to take the test, the cannot be our voice. Mike Yanosik said everyone should try to attend, it's for our own benefit and the future of our careers

i agree with wingnut that they should have let us know which 30 are taking out by the time we walking out of room , to be fair. i think they keeping that 30 points for their ( DCAS) relatives incase they not passing or having high score. sound like IAB issue. =) j/k

According to a very credible DCAS source (high ranking family member), the LAST 30 were survey questions and will not count.

that mayors question does not HAVE to be on the test . ( not that I believe that the last 30 will be thrown out) just bc it was after number 100 doesn't mean anything. There have been prior tests where this question was not asked . You can't base anything on that. Again, I don't at all believe the last 30 will be tossed, but I keep seeing people say that bc this question came after 100 , it means something..

I am talking to those who keep saying that the last 30 "DO NOT COUNT". The NOE did stated that additional questions will be added to the test and the front of the test package clearly stated that additional questions will be spread through out the test and you "SHOULD" answer all questions"...if you left, after Just 100 questions with time on the books don't cry because you were warned and you are a grown up and "SHOULD know better"..and if you did not bothered to see what they were asking in the last 30 questions than shame on you. All 30 extra questions were PG relevant questions not "Research" questions...I did take a bathroom break and I finished the entire test with 2 minutes to spare and I am a slow reader. It's a shame what DCAS did as many did not have time to finish. The Time allotted "SHOULD" be the argument not whether the first, middle or last 30 counted....This was all a sneaky way of DCAS diluting the promotional list. They gambled with people lack of concentration, " Hair-bag" attitudes, and "lucky Saturday aficionados" at the cost of legit test takers and by the looks of it DCAS Won.

Exactly that is why I sent out my protest paper right away so I can find out when the time comes hopefully sooner then latter. No need in added stress we all just might as well just wait and see.
