Who's been reading/studying for the upcoming Lieutenant's exam?

First off, relax. I know it hasn't been announced yet, but I'd like to give myself a headstart. My goal is to be in the first BMOC for the next LT exam, so I CAN BE LIKE...
Anyone else start reading also, or is it just me? My personal opinion is, the next LT test will be announced shortly (within a few weeks) of the 2013 Sergeant's exam next month. No I don't have any inside info. No, my source isn't the same as Ondeeair. Yes, here comes another gif...

My opinion the LT test comes out late next year. Maybe another October exam like the last 3. But I'm leaning toward some time after August.

Id prefer April id rather waste a winter studying then screwing with my summer studying...

I agree with you but I don't think it's going to happen. You get about 6 months notice for the exam and the classes usually get a bit more to prepare material. Nothing being announced about it yet. Maybe in the next few months but I really don't want a June/July exam. I'd rather it be after the summer than in the middle of it.

I hate this saying. Nothing against you be I'm speaking in general, but this is why I hate this:
1. You hate screwing/wasting your summer studying. I say, why not sacrifice one summer to advance your career, and better your pension for the rest of your life. Let's be honest, what are you really doing the entire summer that you can't be bothered to open up a book for an hour or two? Besides, there will be more summers, I promise.
2. You don't really want the position then. The 2011 SGT exam, everyone studied during the summer whether they like it or not. It is what it is. 1663 passed, they wanted it.
3. That summer, I still went out, still did many things with my wife and kids. My life didn't END because I was studying for a promotional exam. The way that I studied (which worked for me), I studied during my meals at work (if I got one), never missed a class during the 24 weeks of the Key, and if I was LUCKY, MAYBE 30-45 minutes of concentrated reading at home (no tv, no phone, no outside distraction). Also, I would listen to those monotone CD's to and from work everyday.
So if it's announced in April, great. If it's announced in October, great. My motivation will not change if I have to study during the summer again. I want this, and I know plenty that do. Good luck to everyone.

I thought you used Yanosik for our sgt test? I too used THe Key. I'm gonna use Yanosik and Rising Star for the lt test.

everyone has their own test taking ways...Here is my opinion coming from someone who does very well on tests. This test will burn you out. So anyone studying now is wasting your time! why? bc the human mind can only hold so much info before you start losing it. Second, the patrol guide is constantly changing, so you may be studying material that will change and now youre gonna screw yourself up by reading contradicting material. For those who insist on reading now, it should simply be that. A read and not a memorization. But even then, this test is a marathon and now a sprint. I saw it on the 2011 test, everyone in the beginning thought they were a hot shot studying so hard in the beginning, by the middle of the test they had all given up. Thats what seperates the first class from the last class on these tests. Along with other factors ofcourse.

Agreed. That's all I'm doing is reading. And it's for about 25 minutes tops. Definitely is a marathon. There is no reason to be studying like it's two weeks before the test for an exam that hasn't even been announced yet.

Nope. The Key. I'm gonna use the Key again, and I'm gonna go half in on Elite Strategic. My buddy will go to the class, I will watch the class online.

not a bad idea. Each class brings their strong points to the table. It is my opinion that depending on which class you take, you will have an easier time with the test. Sometimes though as the 2011 lt test has shown, these classes mean nothing and a curve ball is thrown!

For any of you that took Fast Track, or even those currently studying for next month's exam with Elite Strategic, what can I expect from Yanosik? What is his teaching style like?

B,
i paid 40 bucks and went to Yanosiks cram class a few weeks back.
He has a very energetic, lively approach. I can see why many like him.
I have been told that the key questions are harder than his. I heard his questions are another retention tool.

Awesome man. I'll tell you what. I'm way more motivated for LT than I was for SGT and that's scary.

B,
I think every person HAS to be more motivated.
On a sgt test, 70 will eventually get you made. The LT test is a different beast. One must score in the 80s to feel "comfortable".
This past lt test has a small list due to that abortion of a test. Next time around a person who scores in the 70s shouldn't feel the need to pop the cork on the champaigne.
