They typically do 7 to 8 classes a year so one more for the year would make sense.

They did a December class last year for sure. And yes your right, nov was cancelled because of sandy. I really hope there's a gonna 2 more for the year.

December usually happens. It's considered a "New Years" class and the promotion is looked at as a Christmas present. Last year definitely occurred but Novembor's class of 70 was cancelled due to Sandy and the Dec and February class were only like 35 each. When it comes to how many classes for the year it's a bad way to judge. You should look at how many promotions each class and how many since may 1st, snce may 1st was the first class off our list in 2012. There has been 4 since May this year with an average of 70 per class. Last year there was 7 classes by january 1st. The list was in the 400's and I believe they actually only promoted around 380. If the next 2 months does 70 a piece the promotions are ahead of last years same time frame (any one saying there's a slow down is not paying attention).There is no science to any of this but the dept usually does 8-10 per year and with in the last few years has average 500-600 promotions per year. Since January 1st if that's how you'd like to do it there have been 6 classes with around 400 total promotions I believe. Let's see if there are 2 more this year. I have always thought this list would be completed by January 1st 2015 with it being between 950-1000 by this January. So far it seems like an accurate assumption that I have come to.

Believe or not, although federal, the shutdown has a lot to do with a November class. It creates uncertainty throughout the whole country. Somehow, we have connection to the federal government.
